No, that's a myth that only hippies believe. Have you ever seen a spider actually eating a fly? No, and here's why. They spin crappy little webs in the corner of your room and just sit there, hoping a fly will be stupid enough to stumble into it.

Meanwhile, the flies are buzzing around the room having the time of their lives and going "HAHA!"

So how do they manage to survive by not catching or eating things? :rolleyes:
 
lol, me and my dad were getting into the car the other day and my dad says "Oh theres a money spider on the window, it must mean i'm going to come into some money"

soon as i got in the car it jumped down onto the pavment and buggered off

my dad made some joke that it didnt want to be in the car with me driving -.-

Heh spiders have quite a different approach to my car & driving style they like to make their webs on the sidemirrors sit in the middle and seem to just hang on for dear life as I drive down the road as if to say "COME ON FASTER YOU *** I'm STILL HERE MAKE IT A CHALLENGE FFS!

For smaller spiders that may be true but the larger ones I've seen in my house have fields of death on thier webs so they must be munching quite a bit!

I'll take some pics when I'm home mostly to annoy you pansy lot who don't like the cute little things rather than illustrate my point that they do provide a useful service!

I remember in my last house when I used to spot them running in the shadows at night while I was watching TV. Needless to say I kept my feet up off the floor!

Don't really mind them though - they keep all the other bugs at bay!
