Anyone here read/collect comics?

Which ones do you have? I was thinking Ruse, Mystic and Sigil as Marvel are/have done new runs of them now?

You've just named the 3 titles I have following Marvel relaunching them. I sell anything from 100-250 comics a month on eBay and these just sit stagnating, there doesn't appear to be the interest on eBay at least.

Do you have anything particularly special or "L@@K RARE!!" :D

I have the 200th Batman in VF that's about it.

I have a whole box of various variants from over the last few years.

The best would probably be the 1:75 Sketch Variant of Batman #700, picked it up for less than £10 on eBay, would sell for maybe £30-£50 if I put it back at the right time.

Earlier this year I had The Amazing Spider-Man #50/#51/#52...but these were bought purely on a profit making basis. However, when I did receive them, I ached to keep them and could I have afforded it, they would be sitting in my keeper collection.

Wanna sell that Batman #200?!? ;) It's the one with Batman on the left and Robin on the right holding the Bat logo which says 200th issue right?

Amazing if you buy the right comic at the right time isn't it, you can make a better return than you can in any bank, ISA, house or precious metal if you get it right :D lol

Yeah that's the Batman, but I'm afraid I'm keeping a hold of that one with the hope that it does exactly that: balloons in price so my grand kids will love me for giving it them when I'm 80 :D Comicpriceguide.co.uk says £60 for it at the mo (althoguh I take that price guide with a pinch of course), so here's hoping eh?

I don't have many comics though where as I bet you have 1000's right? What's your favs? Sounds like you're like me, some are for reading, some are for investing in :D

Odd this should come up actually. Last night for some reason I had a real buzz to start reading comics again (it's been 15 years for me too!).

I used to be into all sorts of graphic novels, but comic wise I collected things like 2000ad, Judge Death, Terminator, Aliens vs Predator, Batman and random DC/Marvel others.

I'm not sure where to start these days, but will have a look around. Is Forbidden Planet still good for comics or is there somewhere else decent these days?

Never got into 2000AD - although i wish i did - i love Dredd, Rogue Trooper, STrontium Dog etc :(

I was an Eagle comic boy - any of those kicking around?!

Honestly EBay is better, there's some very good sellers and you don't get screwed on postage like you do with FP, plus FP don't board and bag comics from the website.

I like the seller 'A Place In Space' very quick delivery, good prices and well packaged.

I bought quite a few from these guys

http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/redhotcomics

They do free postage, bag & board, do deals on batches and have a "best offer" option and they will always accept 10-15% off offers.

One of our sergeants said he had the full catalogue, but I think he meant the 2nd series. Trying to get them off him but he wants to keep them for his kids to read.

How much did your spidermans go for??

I don't remember the #51 and #52 as they weren't a lot, but #50 is a huge key issue and it went around the £80 mark, not a lot but it was still over a 100% profit on what I originally paid.

So tempted to plug my 7 eBay accounts :D

Check out http://www.disposableheroes.co.uk/ they were one of the biggest on ebay but got fed up of the fee's and went to do a solo site. They are fantastic, excellent customer service and very good prices plus free p&p. If you do a semi-sub they do random variant upgrades on your issues.

Loads of old 2000AD, Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper stuff from around the early 80's, also got a few X-Men from that era too.

Ah I used to use them, was wondering where they had gone. Thanks for the link :)

NP...i've continued to use them since they left ebay and they truly are one of the best around, have ordered maybe 100+ issues from them over the last year and never had a single problem.

Pretty sure that would count as advertising under the rules :p

Hmmm...what if I was just to "show off" my feedback score ;)

Just kidding, not gonna post any links here. If you're serious about buying comics and are gonna use eBay, you'll stumble across a few of my accounts sooner or later :D
