Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [9th - 13th September 2011]

Reading back on the thread there are some right butt hurt Liverpool fans but fair play to Pigeon_Killer who has said it like it is, firm (about stoke and the style) but truthful. We didnt play football today but we were under pressure for the whole second half. We defended like lions

To get 4 points already thats great. Can we do anything against united? I dont think we wont concede many at home but United might be an exception at the moment !

So did your hands, Im not saying we should have got three points but you cant say we didnt deserve at least one penalty.

Adam as i said earlier was awful for us today and KK didn't do subs earlier enough imo either :(

Couldnt agree more. Was horrified in Jan transfer deadline day when we were linked with him. A good player at Blackpool when every single thing went through him but Liverpool is a helluva step up in class and i think he will be shown up.

Ive just never rated him. I remember watching him at Ibrox when he was a Rangers player and the Rangers fans were hurling themselves off the top tier every time he got the ball!!! :D I was in with Rangers fans and lets just say they didnt rate him either!

If you read my opening post i said we didn't deserve to win today. Even without a penalty you have missed some sitters that you have to score if you want to win a football match.

They got thumped 3-0. At full time the chairman went onto the pitch with a mic and started saying loads of stuff to the fans. Only just heard it on 5Live, seemed very bizarre. Probably show more on the Football League Show tonight.



On the Adam thing, I'm so glad he's being shown to be a fraud. He is a good player, but he isn't as good as everyone makes out. He shone in Blackpool because he was surrounded by average players. When Scotland played Brazil, he looked completely out of his depth, he was the worst player on the pitch. Imagine Charlie Adam in the CL, up against seasoned world class midfielders... they'd have the time of their lives!
 
I never rated Adam. I said that he was not worth anywhere near the amount of money that was being touted about in fee's for him.

:o He seemed quite popular on here with people though. There was a thread praising him was there not?
 
Wednesday smashed the MK Dons 3-1 in an unrelated piece of news :cool:

I dislike the MK Dons quite a lot so was very pleased with this! Palmer scored late on and Madine got two (he's an arsonist :D)
 
Very good performance again today but like I said previously Bolton have been extremely poor this season and today was no different, Coyle has really changed them for the worse IMO

****** off about Cleverley, he reckons he's broken his foot, after Davies comments in the press this week the ref should have sent him off if not for that one on Cleverley then for the one on Evra :mad:
 
Missed all the footie today so can someone sum up what happened with Liverpool?

I expected them to lose as they dont quite have enough for them games yet. They are still much better than last year. Adam bashing seems a bit harsh, he's a great player and probably just needs a little time.

Talking to a Hotel Owner in Blackpool when i stayed over for the Blackpool vs Stoke game he said must Blackpool fans actually rated Vaughn more. They said Vaughn does all the donkey work and is the clever player but it seems that MOTD had decided to make it there mission to trick the general public by showing Charlie Adam to be some kind of fat Scottish Zidane reincarnation

Watch MOTD tonight. Gonna be a good one with all the teams playing today except a few.

Kinda weird to be honest. Is it because tomorrow is 9/11? :confused:

Adam is not a "great" player by any stretch of the imagination!

From what i heard Liverpool had the chances to get back in the game today but Stoke at home will be a banana skin for a lot of teams this season i think.

When you spend £22m in a summer and have the likes of Upson, Woodgate, Crouch and Palacios coming in you can no longer be dismissed with a pat on the head and called "plucky" and "direct".

Is there not an obligation for every team to be shown live by a certain time in the season? I think thats why there is the odd weekend with no "box office" matches. Especially this season when so many of the big teams are playing each other early on and taking up live slots.
 
To be honest I'm a little surprised with the Stoke result. Saying that, I do think Stoke have done exceptionally well in the transfer market.
