***The Official Gran Turismo 5 Thread***

I struggle with the tarmac stages, it feels like my car always understeers so I end up going much slower and then losing a lot of time. Beginner and Intermediate aren't too bad, but on Expert I fail. Should I try a Group B car instead? :p

Just had a go in the Ferrari its mental. Did a lap of the Nurburing and my god its quick. I apologise if it comes back to you with all the dents and scrapes that I left it with.

I must say the way the surround sound in this game is used is superb. I love the fact you get the engine noise up front and the exhaust at the back. You even get the pops out of each exhaust coming from the different sides.. (I'm new to surround sound too)...:D

I don't think having other people borrow it even wears it out.
Actually I think you can even make setup changes and it doesn't change for the owner.

I'll send you some fast expensive cars to keep when I'm next on. My Italia is even grippier/faster than the one you borrowed.
 
Thanks to everyone for sending me the cars to keep and try. Really starting to enjoy this now.
The F1 type car I tried was literally faster than I could see. God knows how you use that in races :D
 
The Red Bull X2010, MOOGLEYS? It's insane yeah, but once you get used to it it's actually pretty fun to use. Only as a driving exercise though, it's so easy to win races it presents literally no challenge at all if you can use it well :D

Only major downside is that after using the X2010 every other car feels slow and sluggish, even the FGT lol
 
The AMG seasonal is a tad tricky with a gamepad.... Was giving GT5 another go, forgot how good looking this game really is.. however not the point decided to try the AMG top gear test track time trial and its a tad tricky.. lol

GT5 seems to have had a lot of updates since I last played it. It took me a while to download quite a few patches.. Which brings me to another point.. PS+ is meant to do this for me.. It doesn't..!! My PS3 never updates or even syncs my games with online storage.??

You'd think by now they'd be some DLC for new cars up updating the standard cars to premium...
 
PS+ does nothing for me either, I bought it because of the auto backup/update features and its all enabled but does not do anything. Complete waste of money tbh..
 
I refuse to pay for a subscription to a service where anything I download expires the moment I stop paying. If I'm paying a subscription for a service like that, I expect whatever I download to be mine, not just a rented extra that runs out if I stop the money heh.

It's even more annoying when useful features are introduced in firmware updates... but only for PS+. The free month was useful though as it allowed me to effectively confirm that I've made the right decision in not paying since I used it all of once to download Sonic 2, then never touched it again :)
 
I thought it was, any free games you DL you can't play after PS+ is gone, but any discounted games or themes or DLC etc. you bought off PS+ are yours to keep forever after PS+ is gone?
 
Not played this for a while, going to get back into it tonight. Anybody got a redbull F1 car they would like to lend me to get back into the swing of things? I really want a go in one!
