****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

You only need to get a custom ROM if you have specific needs, like I wanted to overclock and enable PS3 controller bluetooth connections to play PSX/N64 games.

Generally the stock ROM is great, one of the best OEM ROM's out there.

Thanks Kreeeee, will stick with it.

Also - is being on 2.3.3 the reason Google Music Beta isn't supported?

Noticed software update isn't giving me 2.3.4 - I've got an Orange sim in an Unlocked phone - what do I need to do?

Has samsung done something to TW in the updates? First thing i did was use GOlauncher but i just tried TW and its actually quite nice and snappy? Im actually slighly preferring it to go launcher for some strange reason!

Still waiting on replacement Vodafone handset. Do you know if the stores are able to exchange handsets after 28 days? Bit harsh this 28 day refurb rule considering I have had a faulty handset for most of the 28-day period.

Edit - Called Vodafone and they hadn't processed the replacement order. Hopefully the next replacement will be in as-new condition like the handset I originally returned.

Google Music Beta is technically still US only, hence if you're in the UK the market won't let you have it,

If you are rooted you can use market enabler to temporarily pretend to be in the US and voila it works fine :p

My love affair with the SG2 is over :(
Just couldnt get use to Android after using iOS for so so long. I wish i could but i couldnt in the end. Maybe if i was patient and used it for a few weeks i would get use to it but it was not to be. Looks like im locked into iOS :( and i hate Apple with a passion!

The phone however was brilliant. No issues with that at all. Apple could learn a few things from it. Teh screen is phenomenal and the phone is super light! Great phone.

So, i keep looking for a replacement for the 3GS and the ever so dieing battery.

whats the problem? root it and stick cm7 on the SG2. its the most light and basic rom going. SG2 with widgets everywhere is a bit overwhelming

You're not the only one :) it's buttery smooth all the time here so didn't bother changing.

Might be changing to something else soon though because the only thing I don't like about it is that you can't modify the icons at the bottom of the homescreen too much.

go launcher got an update yesterday though! very snappy:)

i'm loving google music, it's amazing! goodbye spotify.

invite?

I just droped my phone on the concrete and put a smalld ent in the side! gutted, can you buy replcamanet housing for this thing? maybe ill just get a case to cover up the side

I always find Go Launcher always has a slight stutter, I personally use sbs 3d and its like buttery smooth, its pricey but I got it on special sometime ago.

invite for Google Music for me too please!

Whats your email address i'll send one to you. By the way with Google music I would transcode your music to lower quality else it uses loads of data!

[edit]Mrk I sent it to your gmail address from your website :)

[Another edit] I saw H+ in Telford for the first time since getting my SGS2, The speeds I was getting were worse than just normal H?
