Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [17th - 19th September 2011]

Wow, I never realised that we were going to miss Fabregas when he went, he did virtually nothing for us when he was playing in an Arsenal shirt.

Why do you think there are only a few people that rate Fabregas? He would walk into any team in the world. Of course we are going to miss him.

It's like saying Usain Bolt wouldn't miss his legs

Because I quoted a post that said they didn't realise losing Fabregas would hurt us this much, are you that completely dense, or as per usual do you like to pick on my posts with illogical crap while ignoring the post I quoted?

No, most people DON'T rate Fabregas as the best central midfield in the world, no most people haven't said he could walk into any side in the world, the vast majority specifically said he would NOT walk into the Barca team.

SO asides from you being, wrong, and purposefully ignoring the qouted poast I was replying to........ no thats it, you're just wrong and ignorant.

And what 'poor' teams have United managed to lose to over the years? There is a huge difference between having a bad day and a bad season. A lot of people were saying Liverpool were going to be in a relegation fight last year but in all likeliness even if Hodgson had stayed they would have been just fine.

If Arsenal were to drop into the bottom ten for the whole season it will take injuries/runs of poor form for 75% of your players and Wenger having a breakdown.

Just like Chelsea thrashing everyone at the start of last year, these runs don't last for a whole season, Arsenal will be fine. It just depends what your definition of fine is.

Yeh but come on Shami...5 games 14 goals conceded??...thats not and never will be top 4 form...i dont think last season Liverpool conceded that many goals nor do i think Utd have ever conceded 14 goals from 5 games lol.

Thing is teams like Utd, Chelsea and now City have quality in depth whereas Arsenal dont....as i said maybe it will give a huge kick up Arsenals backside if we do struggle to get into the top 10....i dont want us to struggle but sometimes i think if we are put to the wall it might just kick start some serious action from Arsenal because at the moment we arent winning games that we should be...should have beaten Blackburn and Newcastle really.

Considering Ancelloti is still free i think he would do better for you than Wenger, Hughes well i can see were you coming from but if you were to replace Wenger i think Ancelloti would be the better option

Its difficult, I think a LOT of what the old manager does tends to stick around for a long time with a new manager. Take Mourinho's chelsea, he inherited a truly awesome attacking side, and had Robben added to it who was awesome straight off, but over 3 years they attacking side of the team got worse and the defensive side got better.

Ancelloti did hugely better in his first year than the second, while I'd guess the second year the team was becoming more "his" team than the team he inherited. Who knows, he certainly didn't do badly, but I'm not sure he could turn around a team slipping WELL out of the top 4, Hughes has managed clubs that frankly have been in every situation in the league, pushing for the champs league, fighting relegation, in each situation he's made the team better, offensively, defensively, motivation. He's proven in this league many times over and right now I think I'd take that over Ancelloti.

I don't think either would have a particularly hard time improving Arsenal tbh.

Been a bit more even since the goal at Villa park, Bannan had a decent effort go wide. Seems to be a repeated problem with Villa, we take a while to get going.

Woah, woah, woah, were did I say they'd finish top 4?

Not. A. Chance.

You've got to remember that, Gibbs, Rosicky, Verm(its looking increasingly likely), Theo, RVP aren't going to stop being injury prone, they've been injured, theres every chance they will get injured again this season, its not like they'll come back and we'll never have another injury, this is Arsenal, they'll get injured again and Song/Pong will get more red cards, we'll have several more games with painfully injury/suspension hit squads.

Wilshire WILL make an unbelievable difference, he is a truly great player, but remember last year he played a crapload and Cesc made the difference, a team can't have one superb player playing well, Cesc and Wilshire both playing awesome and the team was completely different, either one of them missing and we were half the side. I like Arteta but he isn't a patch on either of them, the question might be is the Arteta/Wilshire combo good enough, and will Wilshire actually be in the team come November........ holy crap, typing that I realise just how many damn games away that is :(

Bent's just missed an absolute sitter to make it 2-0 Villa. And as with the first goal, it would have been against the run of play too.

One person said that they didn't think it would effect us as badly as this when Fab left. You then turn that around so that everyone but you thinks Fab is great. No one mentioned he `IS` the best central midfielder in the world. You are even misquoting yourself :p

So sorry but you are the wrong and ignorant person my friend. There is a big difference between being the best and being one of the best. :p

Maybe concentrate on what you wrote rather than trying to insult people, it just makes you look silly

I didnt see the game today, but by the looks of the posts, Gervinho is turning out to be hilariously crap.

Not really. He took his goal well and created a couple of decent chances; 1 which forced Robinson into a good save and the other he should have played RvP in. There were far worse players on show today than him.

Actually I'm not misquoting myself, I said he was one of the best few PLAYERS in the world, I've said many many times on these forums for years now that I consider him the best central midfielder in the world, you also said he was walk into ANY team, you didn't say except Barca, he would only do this if he was clearly better than Xavi and Iniesta which most people most certainly don't agree with.

So yet again you're wrong, also yes, I was quoting one person, many many other people have said losing him won't be too bad because of Ramsey, Wilshire, etc, etc, so yet again you're wrong. Many people have expressed the same thing Spawn hinted at, that the team would cope without him, etc, etc.

You're also completely ignoring what YOUR post was, and the post you commented on, and what that post was in response to, you're now trying to pick apart a different post, while conviniently ignoring how ridiculous your first post was, as per usual,

the "opps, I made a mistake, so I'll ignore that and try to pick apart a different post........ badly".

He really is

He didn't, his shot was directly at the keeper, the deflected shot was also easily saveable BUT for the deflection as Robinson was ready for the ball to come at him. The defence was a joke and his shot was pretty meh.

The rest of the game it was generally option to pass early, dribble for half an hour instead, crap pass at the end in a far worse position, he almost every single time made the wrong choice, thats been his issue since day one.

Like Theo, he'll find himself somewhere able to score once in a game, but the other 89 minutes he's making life harder for the team rather than easier. Defensively, no help at all, poor passing, woeful decision making, ineffective....... 12 god damned million...about the same cost as Merielles, 4 mil less than Young,, 3mil more than N'zogbia.... who would give us much needed defensive cover down whichever wing we could have played him on, much more than SWP, much more than Johnson, etc, etc, etc.

WE could have done far far far better for the money, and I still don't blame him, he's a striker, he's seemed okay infront of goal, I said in his first appearance, he got two tap ins, yay, we need someone who can do that, he looked crap on the wing and I can't see him playing anywhere but the wing under Wenger......................... 4-4-2, him infront of RVP, maybe a good buy, 4-5-1, him as a winger, woeful, woeful decision to bring him in.

This feed I'm watching has the 2 biggest everton fanboys commentating, Everytime they get the ball it's "oh here's this player he is brilliant, I know he made a mistake there but he had the right idea"

Baines passed the ball to the middle of nowhere and it went right to caldwell and the commentator said "Brilliant pass into a dangerous area, on other days there would have been a player there" If that was any other team it would have been "Terrible pass to an area with nobody there"
