Lots of things are against the law, but that doesn't mean squat when it comes to morality. The law is there to protect, not to punish - at least, that's what we're always told. The distinction here is whether the sentence was lawful, not whether it was legal - in keeping with the spirit of the law, rather than the letter. Which is more important, in your opinion?

I agree with Deadbeat here, while the act itself was against the law on paper, when you factor in the circumstances of the event then it really doesn't warrant the extremely harsh punishment. As said above she'd have received less time for killing someone.

This is most definitely a case of the punishment does not fit the crime.

Okay let's be honest here now. It was her own damn fault, she's an adult, she could have taken him to a hotel room or somewhere more private then a public car park, she deserved to get caught for being so dumb. As for the sentence, women want equality, if it was the other way around the people around the town would have chased the man with pitch forks.

Also, the boy clearly wanted to rupture,gouge and eviscerate her vagina with a blade flurry seen only by showing clear precision and aggression, since he is only 15 his combat potency is probably really good so he must have taken advantage of his quickening by using preparation to do it again. I don't believe the sentence was out of order. If it had been a man having sex with a 15 year old girl much more people would be approving of the sentence so I don't see why the difference of gender makes a different.
