As Kreeeee said, GS2 has tethering which you can use the USB cable or wifi.

I use it with my tab 10.1 and have my phone sitting in my pocket

I am finding the phone's wifi reception isnt that great if I am not within afew metre's of the source. Is there a way of improving/boosting the wi-fi reception either through ROM or add on? I am currently: 2.3.4 running VillainRom 2.4.2 with ninphetamine2.0.4

Wise choice I'd say.

while the mesh looks great I've dropped my phones, screen first on pavements before and they've survived OK with the eBay gel cases, the extra bulk's worth it.

wifi is fine on stock kh3 2.3.4

how do i check if HSDPA is enabled, i see the 3G icon quite often but, i'm assuming there is a H sign for HSDPA. which i have yet to see, any way of telling or connecting?

the 3G icon is when the phone internet is idle - you get the H symbol when actually using the internet in a HSPA area.

Samsungs idea of what is a strong signal seems to differ from other brands. To alleviate your worries run Wi Fi analyser from market and you should see exactly what signal you are getting. Basically what Samsung considers 2 bars in strength , others would say its 3.

Are you sure about that? On my OSF and the wife's Sensation the icon shows what you can use.

So If I'm in a 3G area it says 3G when I get to work it changes to H

i'm not sure on that either. 3g is different to hsdpa right? it's like 3.5g?

if i get the H symbol i get decent speeds, if i'm using 3g then it's carp and slow

T-mobile cap there mobile internet speeds to 350kbps, unless you pay to have it increased, so the difference between 3G and H is quite small.

my t-mobile speeds are fine and uncapped at 1.87Mbps dl and 0.5Mbps upload.

And yes 3g speeds are much lower than HSPA.

what he said. if you have an android phone the T+Cs say (or said) you get 3GB with full speed downloads. otherwise it's 1GB and a cap.

the trouble is, technically the former isn't available if you got your phone through someone like carphone warehouse. only if it's direct through t-mob. saying that, going in store and saying your speeds are slow can usually help a lot
