Only achieve for medals IIRC is for Onyx. That's the medal with all four stars!

That can't be right mate because I have 304 of the 500 done towards that mutuation and I don't believe I have ever upgraded 5 items in a wave more than a handfull of times :)
Plus I've only played 120 odd waves of horde.

But go and look at your ribbon. Mine says 11/100 on the mutator unlock page and my ribbon for "combat engineer" is at a count of 11.

Some of the mutators have * * * * in their explanation (must be medals) others are just text and must be ribbons.

EDIT: Yeah, any of the mutators that are /100 are ribbons, any which are /1 are medals.

Yeah but look on the bright side. Now you know what you've got to do, you can just go doing 5 small repairs each wave. You could do it by the end of the weekend. :D

Just buy the command posts and lay down the most basic spike fences as they are the cheapest to repair.
 
Those little fences are usefull too.
The amoutn of times I've been downed and managed to survive by crawling thru one which then slows the following enemies so they can't finish me off.

When downed remember smash A as fast as you can and head towards the closest friendly dont just sit there like a plum xD
 
I'm going to try and go for the Super Reload mutator (which doubles your clip size on an Active Reload) but it means I've to get 100 kills with each of the five starting weapons in versus mode and I DETEST versus mode.
 
I've only just realised that GoW 3 has dedicated servers! :eek:

No wonder its so much fun to play online. Really having a lot of fun with it. I stopped playing GoW 2 online shortly after release as the shotgun lag that plagued it was just awful. I put up with it in GoW 1 and thought it would have been fixed in 2.

That won't take long, versus private against ai bots. Team death match 35 death limit. You will get 30 of the kills yourself in minutes. I got 70 gnasher kills in 2 games.
 
Just been looking at the mutators again, comet looks good too. As does vampire, that would make for an excellent play through. Your health doesn't regen automatically, it comes back when you do damage to an enemy.

Personally I think they should have made these like halo skulls and not as hard to get because some of them would be awesome fun. They could have made them unlocks for collectables. Especially the ones that are just for fun.
 
I'd not even started looking at these mutator things, now the private game thing has been pointed out tho I may check them out, that reload one sounds usefull.

I didnt realise they were dedicated servers?
Fwe times its poppe up "host conenction lost" or "host left the game"
 
fed up with people saving the money in horde until they have like 33k

supposed to be helping the team build/repair barriers and stuff, its called GoW3 Horde not Natwest savings account!
 
33k? That is a bit ridiculous. There are no achievements for saving. :p I can understand saving 15k to get the silverback machine but no more really.

I also notice with teh randomz that people stick to themselves. So if one person buys a turret, no-one else will chip in to repair or reload it. If another buys a sentry gun, no-one else will chip in to repair or rebuild it. That's annoying. I was giving every last $ of mine to keep some guy going in his silverback.
 
saved up the cash for the silverbacka few times now, even had one dude give me money then go jumping on teh silverback spawn to make me buy it lol.

Dunno how he knew how much money I had :confused:

He was then repairing it also with left over monies.
I ddi let everyone else have a drive of it tho :p
did a few rounds and pretty much got all the kills then decided to let the others have a go lol.

I think thats what the combat engineer one is for. I just had a play around and built 5 things and got nothing. I think it's repairing or upgrading 5 items inbetween rounds.
