Interesting read on what it really costs to run on 10 year old Boxster and what it is like to own. Personally a Boxster is one of the more obvious candidates for my next car, though am thinking more towards an Elise.

SUL not make any difference to the MPG? my sister's boxster recommended SUL inside the fuel filler cap

I tend to fill it up with the 97 oct in the station around the corner, their 97 is currently at 1.37. When I can I top up with tesco 99 but the nearest tesco is a fair distance away so that’s not all that often. it was however cheaper 6 months ago so I took a conservative estimate at the average price. From time to time I have also filled up with regular 95 due to certain stations not offering a 97+ ron fuel.

I have to also add that I can't tell the difference between the fuels, sometimes I think I can but I am sure it is just a placebo effect. When I’m at the pump though, if it’s available, I do use the good jungle juice.

Like VinceB1 said, the RX8 is not comparable to the boxter so it's a bit of a non issue*.

*The RX8 is more comparable to the 911 Turbo S just fyi ok

£1.37 is about as cheap as youll get SUL in southend, i think tesco 99 was £1.38 this morning

I've paid £142.9 before for the premium stuff. A full tank for me costs between £86-£90 depending on how empty I am and gets me anywhere from 180 miles - 280 miles.

So a boxster is a poor mans 911.... Does this mean a 350z/370z is a poor mans GT-R? Last time I checked 350Z/370Z got nothing but praise.

Hey go easy on the 4S I was looking at a 4S but then thought a little jump more gets me Turbo. But then I really want a 997. Didn't want a RWD porsche as it been a long time since I've pushed a car. So going down the getting old route I really wanted 4x in a powerful car. Couldn't stretch to a 997 turbo so bought a SLK55 AMG. Yeah oh hang on thats a powerful RWD.

Oh well saving for 997 turbo
