Nothing wrong with the torch in BF3, quit the complaining.

It's (much) brighter than the sun. It's like you're carrying a fusion reactor around :p

can't even join a damn game today so annoying

From the few times I have looked through this thread people really don't seem to happy with it either.

O and to call it a "beta" when it is this close to release is just to trick people really, it's a demo under the guise of beta to help cover up any bugs it may have this close to release.
Game will be going gold soon and getting pressed so it is beyond beta stage.

Yep exactly the same server full issue.
What's your Origin name Lander?

*Edit. Think they are doing something now, as I don't get the "Could not connect to server" anymore, just a skull and cross bones "Could not join server". A sign. :D

Erm my Origin name is DCFC_R4M

It's working all good for me now :)

I just dont get how its worse than the damn alpha for bugs im praying this is a really old version

i think this was the alpha and they mixed them up by mistake  the amount of animation bugs ive seen is shocking even for a so called beta lol

I'm not considering cancelling because of bugs and glitches, I’ve given it 6 hours of my time and imo its no great leap forward from BC2 which I gave up on a long time ago, It's certainly not a true sequel to BF2, also I just think it’s ****, that's why I’m considering cancelling. I've tried to like it but i don't think it's for me.

Maybe once the Karki and Sharqi pack gets released i'll be overcome with nostalgia, and i may turn my hand to it.

Have you played much of the conquest mode ?

As far as i can see, the conquest maps are every bit the sequel to BF2.

Theres a few minor annoyances like the map isn't very helpful, and the squad system isn't the best. But they're not part of the core game.

The core game is spot on imo.

Calling it a Beta is marketing guff too, its just a demo.

I'd agree, they tried their best to kill off the BF2 demo, there were snide comments from EA about how people playing the demo too long were "stealing", but they can't easily get rid of a demo, by calling it a beta however they can make its dissapear once people have got a taste without people having the same grounds for complaining.

Given how shoddy the beta is (tho it does look like fun when it actually works) unless the retail game is a good 6-8 months ahead of the beta build I'm glad I was put off by the Origin crap and didn't buy it.

I've watched people playing the game and I'd say it was a lot more than minor annoyances, at one point the guy was running around with his gun unable to fire and unable to die, whilest 2-3 people on screen were running around as corpses on the ground with their guns sticking in the air continously firing. I've seen dozen of texturing issues, people falling through the map and not just in the odd spot/situation (this is something that should have been addressed a long time before the game became beta) and dozens of other fairly game breaking bugs that should never have still been present in a beta build of the game - things that any self respecting studio would have addressed in early alphas as otherwise you have hugely complex issues as the game becomes more and more built up on top of problems causing knock on issues and a lot of leg work/unexpected side effects.

Man I hope they introduce Caspian Border into the rotation soon. I enjoy Metro quite a lot, but from the videos I've seen of Casbian Border, it's like Heavy Metal from BC2 but like bigger and better :)

Haha, I got a one shot with the sv98 on a guy and I swear my aim was nowhere near him. I also tried to no scope someone, got a hit marker and he killed me. He had 100 pc health. I know it's a beta but it needs work. I'm also not feeling it yet, are you guys?

DICE have shipped a fair number of projects over the years and assisted on many more, thus I think its safe to assume they understand a little bit about software development a project management.

Personally I would consider DICE to be a self respecting studio.

I would like to think so, but quite a few of the issues I'm seeing would normally be sorted out in builds months ahead of game release, even assuming the internal beta builds are a couple of months ahead of the public build its not inspiring. Some of the issues I'm seeing should have been sorted a long time before the rest of the game was built on top of those mechanics.
