****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I need a week. This weekend is a non test, I've been using it for Nav the whole weekend and extended web surfing due to being away.

With the stock battery I can manage up to a day if I use it regularly. I never turn off 3G/WiFi and have apps syncing. If I can get 2 out of the new battery or more than a day given my usage pattern then that's a good result given it's not got 2x the stock capacity.

Isnt the glass mean to be this new fancy gorrila glass?

How could it shatter from just being dropped on some rocks?

Gorilla glass is less prone to scratches, it doesn't mean it's toughened to the point that it can withstand impacts. It's still only a thin layer, after all.

I hope you understand, but this is a massive thread so I cant read it all.

Virgin text me earlier and offered me this phone for free on their £27.99 a month tariff.

I was considering buying an iphone but now, after reading reviews, i'm all confused.

My main smart uses for my phone will be taking photos (very important), recording video, watching video (utube), music and some light internet browsing.

Do you think I would be better served with the Sammy?

EDIT: A good sat nav function would be a massive bonus.

Just wait until the Apple press conference on Tuesday to see what the iPhone 5 (hopefully) looks like.

You would be fine with this phone though, and the free sat nav option is better (but requires a data connection).

Anyone on CM7 having issues downloading apps from the market? Super Stickman Golf, FPSE and others say they're incompatible with my device, even though I know they aren't.

I get this when I change my dpi from the standard setting. Changing it back to 240 usually sorts it out.

hey mate i baked one of those roms u mentioned yesterday, all went really well apart from i failed to add a keyboard, was quite amusing managed to find a installable gingerbread keyboard and send it to the phone via the pc :D

Ah yes Android market's mega judos point on that front :p

I used to fine Modaco ROM's battery usage to be higher than any other ROM, I notice this is still the case in GR5 so am hunting a new ROM to use. I might just go back to GingerMod really.

What? That doesn't really make sense. :p

Sorry, was sent from my phone, so tried to keep it short, what i meant was, that the performance of this i9100 is what the Galaxy S should have been from the Start without the need for a lagfix, though the later 2.2.1 and .2.3.4 roms made it much better :)

Go to manage applications and clear the data for Market, then try again.

or just uninstall it, then you'll be back on the old Market, which is faster and more stable.

Picked mine up at lunchtime - charging now. Looks fantastic, can't wait until I finish work so I start messing with the phone. Too many meetings this afternoon so won't get a chance until I finish work! :D

How do you guys find the screen for emails / browsing?

I understand its not quite the resolution of the ip4 and I notice a big difference from using the wifes 3g compared to my ip4.

I really like the feel of the phone and the Mrs is getting my 4 to stop her complaining about speed etc..
