I think the torch light flares/glare effects are pretty cool, they're not far off the real life torches. Anyone ever had a high powered LED torch shine in their face? I have several and it's not far off what the game has.

What the hell are you talking about? I've not mentioned the map or anything in my post. I mentioned buggy squad management (as in, there is none) and buggy avatar movement, neither of which require any particular map to function. What part of those two areas say "map" exactly?

You seem to just be moaning left, right and centre in the last few pages toward anything negative being said about this beta.

And as lie has pointed out, I am waiting for the final game, or maybe you didn't read the whole post!

FFS YOU DIDN'T READ THE WHOLE POST! HOW MANY TIMES!!eleventy.

I think i quoted the wrong reply!

I'm not maoning at people giving constructive feedback, there is a hige amount that needs fixing... but cancelling the game based on BETA is stupid to me!

Was laughing at some of the lines shouted last night, must be 'aware' of what is going on around you as 4 of us pushed up and stopped behind the big concrete blocks to scout ahead, team mate is peppering rounds towards MCOM 'B' and shouts "I'm gonna ****ing kill em all", just as the 2 teammates to our left get taken out he says "Oh jesus, taking fire" or similar and as we immediately go prone he says "We're getting our ****[feces] pushed in here", hahaha.....

I would say they are pretty cool as well, just hugely overpowered. I would like them kept in but toned down, maybe they have been already, as i can't see them staying like this in the full game surely?
The point about them being realistic is irelevant imo, as i think sometimes as they are, they are unbalaned and overpowered.

That's what is putting me off Eyefinity - the stretching to recreate "perspective" and peripheral vision would give me a headache. I'd much rather just have an ever so slightly larger FOV and then have that go across all three screens :D

You don't really notice it ingame though, you're looking at the middile screen and using the sides for peripheral vision, you never really look at the side screens.

Only really issue is obviously the massive res needs a lot of grunt behind it. For 5760x1080 all high in bf3 you're talking quad gpu's. :(

The purpose of them in the game IS to disorientate enemies, whilst also showing off all the fancy lighting effects that Frostbite 2 has to offer.

They're not that hard to overcome anyway. Aim at the centre and fire off a few shots. Not the flashlight's fault if you can't aim :p

I wouldn't have cancelled it. So I'm quite fortunate to have been given this glimpse into the game. For me, there is no real benefit to pre-ordering the game. I can wait and see how the game plays/runs for various friends and forums then decide.

You'll enjoy paying extra for back to karkand will you?

What FPS do you get when you did have the settings cranked up out of interest?

Dual GTX580s seem to give very good performance at triple screen resolutions from the rough benchs I've seen, so I wouldn't have thought your 6970s are that far behind?

They are definitely ramping up to full speed also, and not getting the Flash glitch from using Battlelog (clocks staying at idle)?

Aim at the massive white light that covers the whole screen?:p

This is outdoors as well as indoors, that is the main problem. I don't have so much of an issue with them indoors, but i am getting my screen turn white(or red from laser sights) from people on the island at the start of the level.

I have no problem with the idea of the flashlight at all, i would much prefer it toned down though, a lot

Inside the flashlight effect works really well - it's outside that they need to dim it down a bit!

And everyone rants and raves about the laser sight being a pain in the arse too. I don't think it is, but then again most people I play against do. Maybe I just aim well and they can't? As said, I haven't had a problem playing against the laser sights yet...

The torches must be powered by a White Dwarf, way overdone.

With everything up high its around 35-50 fps, but after playing in 1920x1080 50fps just feels too sluggish to be really playable, my current settings average just over 60 which makes it feel smoother.

Im pretty sure theyre clocking up, don't really use afterburner as it has a habit of making my pc bsod. I posted a vid a few pages back of a guy using dual 590's and he was getting around 75fps on all high.

I don't mind paying extra.

I'll be really happy if when the game comes out everyone is singing praises on how well it all works - I'll buy it right away. However if it's the opposite and there is some work that needs doing I'll quite happily wait for the first patch.

You trying looking STRAIGHT into a powerful torch, inside and outside, both dazzle you.

I know the res is a lot higher than mine (single 1080 monitor) but I'm using a single 6950 and it is literally flying through the game with every setting cranked up minus the bugged AA (never need more than 4x in my eyes). Was just a passing thought on the clocks, wouldn't have thought performance would have suffered as much as it seems to have done.

Aim right near the top of the light, you'll get a headshot if you can pull it off quick enough, i've done it a few times, other times i've failed and either died or killed them without a headshot, takes practice, and everyone is different, everyone adapts to games differently than others, so you'll get the hang of it eventually.

You don't actually look at the side screens, they're there in your peripheral vision only.

(Providing they actually scale the HUD to the middle monitor for release)
