Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Fair enough. One is defo on the cards for me, but no doubt I'll sell it shortly after.

Keep looking at new suspension parts, I'm heavily tempted by the Koni Ajustable Dampers, but then I think were is the point I enjoy the way it drives just now I barely get any understeer its a little rolly but that should be sorted out with some new springs! Argh, I hate having the urge to spend money for no reason!

Brakes are going to be my first priority I think...

Shame I'm skint currently!

Does anyone know if the pagid break pads are the same as the renault oem ones, reason I ask is that they are fairly cheap on euro car parts and I have a sneaking suspicion they are as pagid make break pads for many different performance cars!

Gearing my car up for my mot, going to need the following:

2 x new front tyres hankook k115 ventus prime 2 £170 fitted
2 x new front break pad sets ~£30
Filter and 5L 5w40 fully synthetic oil ~ £40 (part of service anyway)
2 x front wipers ~ £15
1 x Washer motor, mine completly dead, will be a right beach to remove wipers! ~£13
1 x Number plate bulb (assume 12v cylindrical ones , can use from the ones i removed from sidelights)

Decided against winter tyres after all, was going to go for the kumho ones around £75 for 2 front but thought.. well if it does snow I wont be able to really drive anyway considering the car will act like a snowplough with only ~2inches clearance under the bumper!

Also my manager knows I live in the ****sticks so will hopefully give me a few days off without tapping into holiday if it does snow!

Very expensive month as I just spent 350 getting a collar tapped into the head to replace a dodgy spark plug that sheared and will also need a new door (which ive found) to be sprayed up arctic blue due to *ahem* complications while attempting a tow!

To top that off insurance is the same time as mot! my bill for this month has already taken octobers and novembers beer money!! :(

Does anyone know how much I should be looking at to get a door spray up if i do most of the prep work myself? might throw in the wing mirror covers while im at it seeing as they'll have the paint ready!

The only difference between the two ( i think ) is the arrow shape tread pattern on the v12s, and as winter is coming i want a tread pattern with the most cross tread (if that makes sense) incase of any difficulties with snow!

Decided to go for the R1R's over the R888 as winter is fast approaching. Should be with me on Friday! Car is still on target to being ready on Thursday aswell

I've run R1R's for a year on the Williams. Superb dry weather tyre, ace for trackdays too. They are better than the 888's in the wet, but still you need to take care in heavy rain more than normal. I drove them in snow also, but I think you are not supposed too in very cold conditions.

I swapped them too the AD08's this time, which are better in all weather but not quite as grippy and seem to have a softer side wall, which I don't like.

Yaaaaaaaaay! :D Car is back.

And holy hell the car feels fast, i don't know whether this is because i've been driving a wafty jag for the last month and a bit, or because i haven't driven it since removing another 50kg of wait. What ever it is, the first time i floored it in 2nd and 3rd this morning after picking it up i was grinning from ear to ear, i just don't remember it feeling anywhere that quick.

New brakes when cold are terrrrrrrrrrrible, but thats to be expected. After a couple of emergency stops, warmed up, they are incredible. The car actually stops quicker than i can heel toe through the gears now.

New tyres are here, hopefully getting them fitted tuesday.

Interesting to hear, i wanted to go for A048, but the price is a bit silly.

Went to view the 172 to this morning. Advert said unmodified but when I asked for pictures they had (off?)white 182wheels on, some other very minor cosmetic details. Looked the business as it was in the Monaco blue.
Go there today and it was more modifed, some halfords stick on tat, big exhaust, cobra seats and single wiper conversation arrived before the guy got there so phoned up and said thanks but no thanks.

Shame, as apart from that looked really nice, definately something to aim for looks wise.

There was also the problems of his personal reg still being on the car spelling his name -doubt he'd want rid of it, and car parts (guy with me said manifold cover) down the side of his house.

Not in saleable condition. He could atleast lied better and had it all sorted before veewing, and I wouldn't have known.
Also done a txt HPI check this morning, 7 owners from new (march 03) so more or less one owner a year. I no it's the be all and end all and but it makes you question why so many people were keen to replace it with a new car (the reason of his sale) so quickly.

Well, it only took 8 months searching, 2 sets of wheels, 3 sets of spigots, a puncture repair and a new PE2, but I have finally got 15" wheels on my car!

From the brief blast this afternoon, looks like the PE2s and setting the ARB to hard have massively increased the grip, and it feels like it pulls better now with the lighter wheels. Now to sell my 16s, buy a helmet, and get booked onto the Silverstone trackday next month!

That's not a rep though is it, that's purely just the incorrect engine in the car surely? Looks like a Megane engine has gone into a 172?

I thought a "rep" was when people made non-sport Clio's look like the Renaultsport variants using the body kit (front/rear bumper, front wings and side skirts)
