Cable BB on it's own is always cheaper than BB with phoneline.

Granted, it is only a slight discount on the contract but we're talking about a £125 saving per month as his mum can't run up a phone bill anymore.

virgin's calling charges are insanely high. if he had a virgin phoneline his phonebill would be about £250 a month instead of £125

There are plenty of jobs out there...just depends whether the OP is willing to work or not. The normal acceptance of welfare in the UK is shocking, and frankly appalling.

I'll ask again. Who's name is the phone line in? If it is in your mums name then what is your problem (apart from being suckered in to paying for her calls) and if it is in your name then why aren't you implementing some of the suggestions listed here?

If Kingston Communications won't block outgoing calls (and I don't believe they won't) then cancel the damn phone line if it is in your name and get mobile broadband or cable if you can get it.

I worry about the ability of some people on these forums. This isn't a difficult problem to resolve.

After a recent fault on my phone line I found out that ADSL only uses a single wire and your normal Phone needs two to work, so yes, it is perfectly possible to sabotage a Phone completely and keep Broadband going on the same line. :cool:
