********** The all new "Official" iPhone 4S thread - Keep all the iPhone 4S stuff in here **********

Just been looking on O2 at the pay monthly tarrifs, do I need a bolt add on now for wifi usage or do you get some within the tarrif? I'm wanting to get a 16gb for free as an existing customer for £36 a month (900 mins, unlimited texts). I'm currently paying £35.74 for my 3GS with unlimited wifi so if they charge now for Internet it's going to take my bill to £40 which is more than I'd like to pay really.

O2's tarrifs are a joke. I am on the same tarrif as you, but when my contract ends (next month) I'll be moving over to Three. A 16gb 4S is £99 and £35/month for unlimited internet, 5000 texts and 2000 minutes on Three. That's for a 24 month contract though.

You'll use it for all of a day until you realise it's actually quicker to just press buttons.

Not sure how you can say this without actually having used it yet? If it works as described saying "wake me up at 7am" is a lot quicker than doing the same task by pressing buttons.

Thanks I might do that then, are all of the three pre orders sold out?

Looking forward to Siri most of all!.. Damn, if it does half of what they say and it's only a "Beta", But will get much better, The first attempt at true A.I. Can't wait!

Hmm... Starting to sound like a fanboy. LOL

£939! Christ. Glad I don't use many minutes, two years on a sim free deal on Giffgaff's £10 bag (250mins, unlimited texts & web) works out at £739 with the bonus of being able to change the monthly amount to suit any change and not being tied in for 2 years.

You still need to buy the phone though, or am I missing something?

Yeah £499 + 2 years @ £10 is what I put on there to compare :)

Ahh sorry, was being a bit blonde.

Still, not all of us are in the position to ***** £500 on a handset in one go, so contracts way I can justify getting a premium phone :)

Just make sure that you do actually receive 3g coverage with Three everywhere you're going to be using the phone.

Three would be useless for me as it switches between 0 or 1 bar of 3g signal where I live and they don't do 2g coverage.

Siri won't be available on the iPad 2.

So what does the iPhone 4S have that the iPad 2 hasn't?

The service is beta so Apple probably want to limit the number of users at first. Plus, they obviously want to give people a reason to buy the new iPhone.

Remember that Siri used to be available for the iPhone 3GS before Apple bought the company. Most of the processing is done server-side. There's no technical reason why it couldn't be released for the iPad and older iPhone models.
