****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Yeah its is the latest from Google  Lock screen is good but seems a bit HTC'ish?

what do you mean? there are about 6 lock screens to choose from.

I love cm7 but dont understand why i get fc on video cam, it's so annoying.

edit: people use autobrightness? why:o

Three have the best deal from what I've seen:

With the The One Plan you get:

2000 minutes (anytime, any network)
5000 texts
All-you-can eat Data
5000 Three-to-Three minutes
Voicemail
2 months Free Spotify Premium
Free PAYG SIM for a friend

For £35 a month! Wish I went on this plan. I'm with Vodafone and I get 500 minutes, 500MB internet, unlimited texts for £32.50 :(.

The deal i think i may go for is

500 mins
Unlimited txts
1gb Net

£17 a month 24 months & £130 for the phone plus £60 cashback (TCB) :)

was yours 12 months?

FINALLY:D:D No FC on video camera, you guys must have not had any videos in your DCIM folder that were recorded on a samsung firmware? or maybe moved them to another Dir...

CM7 is almost perfect now:)

its the only rom i found where the new market runs properly, i seem to get lag or wait for it to load/search.

I'm not really a fan of the auto brightness option anyway, they reckon you get better battery setting yourself. I use this app which iis a really good way to up your % at a touch.

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.curvefish.widgets.brightnesslevel&feature=order_history

I don't want to change brightness using a widget though, I prefer dragging the notification bar to adjust brightness, it's quicker as I don't use multiple homescreens (minimal, better for me) and doesn't offend my eyes with stray widgets on my homescreen or take up space on the drop down list.

As it stands, notibar dragging was not working for me, it is in the changelog though so I can only imagine it's some bug so I will re-visit CM7 when it is final.

This is the deal I've gone for - it should arrive between 2:38 and 3:38 this afternoon according to the tracking e-mail!!!! *excited* :D

i need unlimited tect and over 300minutes with 500mb data

If the contract length doesnt bother you, I've gone for the deal on Affordable Mobiles which is £130 up front then £17 p/m (24 months) with Three and you get 500 mins, 5000 texts (good enough??) and 1GB of internet - plus £60 Quidco (or Topcashback) cashback!

anyone know any good deals on this phone for vodaphone or O2. upto £35 a month.

Take a look at the Talkmobile £30 p/m 12 month contract. 400 mins, 1000 texts, 1gb data. £99 handset.

Talkmobile use vodafones network.

It works fine for me. Did you enable it in CM settings > Interface > status bar tweaks?

Yeah!

Also for some reason GoLauncher EX would not restore the backup so I'd have to re-do all my folders in the app tray, shortcuts etc. Pain in the something!

When did you order matey?

I was going to go sim free for about £300 and then go on 3 payg for £15 a month anyway so this seems a no brainer!!

mrk is your memory card ntfs formatted? I couldn't transfer a ~6gb mkv file last night, it said there wasn't enough space, guessing this is a fat32 limitation?

Also what memory card do you have?

I have an 8GB card in there as I don't use my phone for music, only for watching movies and TV and for that I just bung on the odd movie or show and delete after.

It's not NTFS formatted, I don't think you can do that anyway to mem cards, especially ones before 32GB anyway?

You can connect a USB HDD to the phone and mount it as an external file system though. A lot of Samsung based custom ROMs support mounting an NTFS EFS drive via the USB OTG cable, I don't know if CM7 supports this.

I just have a cheap Nokia USB OTG cable and that works fine for me.

I also used a better solution before EFS support came in. Just use MKV Merge to split the large file into chunks and just add them to your player's playlist so they play seamlessly as one. Easiest and quickest solution. Takes minutes to split.
