****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

no probs:)

mkvmerge worked mrk, not exactly seamless though, but about the best I can hope for I suppose. (using vlc playlist).

When did you order matey?

I was going to go sim free for about £300 and then go on 3 payg for £15 a month anyway so this seems a no brainer!!

I ordered on Sunday evening but they are closed on Sundays so the order got placed yesterday with delivery today!

No complaints so far with the service from Affordable Mobiles (although I should probably wait until the phone actually lands! :p) - just be wary of the Mobiles.co.uk deal - I tried to go for an Xperia Arc a couple of weeks ago and it all went very pear-shaped with my number porting! (was with Talkmobile and they have no facility at all to port a number across if the initial porting doesnt do to plan - as mine didnt!)

Oh well, all worked out for the best since I've now gone for the S2! :D

CM7 users....

can you see your external SD card? i can access the music from it via a music player, but i cannot browse to it. using astro, or file manager there is a link as you all know to ext_folder, but it comes up blank

CM7 follows the proper convention of using mnt/emmc.

OOOOO, the 2.3.5 update means that the stock browser now works with all the problem flash videos I had before. Dolphin HD still cant cope, but stock now works.

Of course CM7 has now just come out with a browser that is not hardware accelerated. SO ANNOYING. I have been craving CM7 for ages and now the stock browser actually offers something awesome.

So should up upgrade to CM7 now that 7.1 is out (i think it's a stable release)?

I've backed up everything using titanium backup (i think it's all been sent to dropbox too). I've also got Rom manager which I think lets me easily do it. Anything stopping me?

Just to double check, to see if i've got this (regarding backups).

Titanium Backup only backs up application data, whereas rom manager will backup the entire rom? is that correct? I couldn't backup with titanium backup, then restore my default samsung ROM with it could I?

yeah pretty much, TB does do a lot. but you just really wanna backup your apps + data. no need for system settings as that will import stuff you don't want on cm7. and nandroid will take an imagie of your phone as it is right now. you cant pick or choose from it, you either restore or not, if you get what i mean.

can you flash back to stock Rom using Odin in windowsif you are on cm7?

edit- I love the ease of Odin for updates. It would be reassuring to be able to try cm7 knowing stock is a few clicks away.
