X-Factor 2011

Is it just me or were this weeks performances all really weak? After last weeks show I was left thinking "wow, there is some real talent this year"... now I'm left thinking "they're all a bit average"... disappointed.

Also, loved Janet to begin with... but wasn't mad over her last song.

Top 3 in no order

Craig
Janet
Rythmix (can't explain why though) :p

This is what's so fascinating about anything musical. We can all listen to the same person and hear something different.

For me that lad gets the Rihanna-style "cute kid vote" and he can certainly string a few words (and sounds) together, but I get nothing from the performance or his voice. It took me nowhere and made me feel nothing apart from impressed he can speak quickly and be remarkable cocky for such a youngster.

Are you "into" rap?

Don't really get what is so good about that kid on the American one, I have seen better on youtube.

His timing.
Confidence.
The ability to deliver in a huge stage.
The ability to sing in front of big names such as Rihanna and LA.
All at such a young age.

If you compare him with the contestants from the UK version, they would be in tears...that's how scared and terrifying an experience it is.

If you have seen better on youtube...then by all means. post it up here?
And out of interest are these youtube rappers 14 years old? And are they singing on a big stage or in front of big music moguls?

Same here...that's what I was thinking.
As for Craig, I can't see how he would sell many records AFTER he has had his first single, at Christmas 2011.

It depends what you mean by "into". Have I heard performances with rap elements which have emotional impact? Then yes.

But in general I prefer singers to sing rather than talk, and poetry with a backing track can be a tricky medium to work in effectively. I often feel like I'm just being preached at by rappers. "This is my message and I'm going to hammer it into you one syllable at a time!"

It's not usually a subtle medium, and I guess my ear leans more towards the subtle than the strident.

I heard a lot of screaming teenage girls, every time Frankie was being introduced...so I guess, the young girls do like him. Why...I do not know as I wouldn't classify him as particularly attractive. If he could get rid of the birds nest, then perhaps he may look more appealing.

Yes, on the Xtra Factor, Professor Green said he should get his hair cut and Chris de Burgh said he should stop waving his hands about.

I think both those things will improve his chances.

I don't get Craig at all. I'm feeling ostracized. :D

I'm missing it as well, doesn't do it for me but then I guess I'm not the demographic they're looking for ;)

HEADRAT

Thank god it's not just me! I really don't like him and find his performances self indulgent with a hint or 'I think I'm better than I am' his demeanour while performing scrrems and yells over confident idiot at me a bit like that Danyl Character a few years ago.

I don't really get the Misha B thing either and fully expect a voter backlash at some poing as the show is to obviously favouring her.

oh and enough with the ridiculous oufits already not everyone needs to be Lady Ga Ga.

Danyl, for me, was the best singer of that year.
Does anybody know if he has pursued the singing or has he gone back to his day job?

Anybody who goes on X-Factor or Britain (hasn't)Got Talent and fails should be put to death. They're both stupid shows full of diluded people who think they can sing.

I know I can't sing, therefore I don't sing in public. Some of the people I see on that show must be under hypnosis or deaf or something. Come to think of it, I'd rather see a deaf person sing, at least it would be entertaining (no offence)

I really really hate Misha B's rapping and her facial expressions when she sings. Hope she doesnt win.
