I for one definitly am! I skipped the last intel cpu so this one is next on the cards.

Just wondering how many others will be doing the same. Will probably get the Core i7 3930K myself.
:)

Do not plan to unless I come into some unexpected cash :D Read - LOTS of it :p

Matured IvyBridge is likely my next upgrade path, 2600k has much more life in it yet :)

I was waiting for them till I saw the price and reality is they are not worth it with the software available at the moment unless you use it for work, eg rendering, video editing and heavy threaded software. For a home PC it is overkill and I was waiting for them and decided rather spend the money on a better motherboard for an i7 2600k and better+more memory and put the extra money into a new graphics card. Very happy I did that now. I will wait till the next generation now and when they come at a real price with 8 cores or more as standard.

Also I doubted if the i7 2600k would be much faster then my old Q9650 @ 4ghz and humm was proved wrong, it is a much faster setup in everyday use (even at stock) and cuffed to bits with the upgrade. :).

I'll be going with that or maybe wait til Ivy Bridge. My i5 750 isn't so old but lawd knows I want to upgrade anyway :o

Me probably, especially if they clock to ~5ghz. The one thing I don't like about Sandy Bridge atm is the motherboards, not much room for expansion.

Anyone got the prices for these babies? I am seriously considering upgrading from my trusty 920 D0. but need to see the dosh they are worth before committing. Ta.

Tempted to as I'm still running an i5-750 but finding the complete system as a whole still performs very well (8GB ram, Intel 160 GB SATA 2 SSD). Don't play games that often but the machine is fast enough for my work/business needs I might just upgrade the GC next year instead for the times when I do play games (any extra gaming performance is good).

Will give it a bit more thought when the chips are released and priced, but would also mean getting another SSD (SATA 6) ideally to get the best out of the configuration.

THink the SB-E will be a good choice as apparently it'll open the door (via the MoBo) to the faster IvyBridge processors that I believe are also supposed to use the new 2011 motherboard?
