Yeah tragic yet another thread derailed with rroff (whatever the hell that means) and his driver ramblings.
We can only hope, i thought rage was decent, i just hope they don't go the same direction with doom 4 as they did doom 3. A shadowy space station filled with convenient monster closets with no selotape to be found 0_o.
Hopefully they learn from what went well/badly with RAGE, the (Doom 4) development team has atleast 2 very talented guys on it as well as some new people so atleast it should hopefully turn out a bit different to RAGE.

I'm a bit confused as to why they would call it Doom 4 instead of just Doom, I found Doom 3 quite disappointing but maybe i'm in the minority.

Textures and popup are terrible, no wonder people complain about low res textures if it looks like that on a good number of people's PCs
textures look nothing like that for me and even in the worst case popin hasn't been even close to that bad on my setup - even with the first patch and before I tweaked it.Ouch just watching that video you linked to and ninja edited

What the first little bit looks like on my setup, couple of bits of texture popin and a hitch due to using fraps, isn't like that when I play.
Yeah same for me when I first booted her up.
