What film did you watch last night?

Drive - 8/10
Can't help thinking this film, although an entertaining piece of cinema, was caught between genres, film noire or generic action ?

The Social Network. Missed it at the flicks and only just got around to watching the BR three months after I bought it. Brilliant. I don't know how much is true ("some" seems to be the consensus), but I don't think Zuckerburg comes out of it all that badly. Utterly lacking in the ability to understand people, but not malicious. Saverin is portrayed as a saint, but then he wrote the book it's based on. And Sorkin's script is a masterclass on how to write a film script.

Watched Threads.. Never seen it before, quite terrifying.

That as in the 80's nuclear war series? If so - and this is really stretching my memory, do you see empty milk bottles melting and a woman wetting herself (literally) while observing a mushroom cloud?

Yes it was quite terrifying - probably more so back then during the cold war.

Death Note 8/10

I thoroughly enjoyed it! I did watch the manga series a while back, but I am not a fan of animated stuff so was pleased to see this starting as I flicked through the channels tonight.

Overall it was very enjoyable and seemed to translate really well to film. The CGI on the God of Death was decent enough as well.

Yup thats it, can't imagine how much more scary it was back then. I get the fear if I hear the air raid sirens! Eerie!
