Just had 3% last month due to the company wide negotiations, prior to that I think they had been on a pay freeze for 2 years and took a pay cut before that. I've been having bi-annual salary reviews as well due to doing my exams, should be fully qualifed in 15 months so would expect my salary to be 50% higher by then

Nothing. No pay rise in 2 years, and no bonus this year - even though I 'frequently exceed all expectations of the post'.

Would have been worth a £1000 one off payment, but they've stopped bonuses as well this year.

I got a 4.4% rise last month to an astonishing..... £5.37 an hour.

Beats the folk on £4.94 however. I get the best payrise (yes 4.4% is the highest it goes :/) because I make the chips

are the chips not the easiest thing to make in mc donalds apart from the drinks and ice creams?

surely you just through a bag of frozen fries into the fryer and take them out after 3-5 minutes. then dust them with salt.

i once got fries from there which were too salty to eat though and gave them away.

i would actually like to see how their food is made though from start to finish, just to see what the whole setup is.

The week after this one coming, my pay is increasing by £1.12 per hour. I work 48 hours a week (12 hour/day) shift so it's quite a significant increase and will help my quality of life a lot

Yes, I had a pay rise of £0 per year, 2 years in a row. However I no longer work for them.

Customer service flunkey. It's an easy job most of the time and it pays the bills. I was fortunate enough to buy a house at the right time and as a result my mortgage is very small (£250 a month), so the wages that officially put me firmly into poverty are just enough to live on tolerably well.

I got a rise of £1000/per year within the first year of working.

I'm told it'll only keep going up as usual. Next jump will only be £900 per year.

Tht works out at around 8% due to me having a crap job btw

I've just been told europe have been sticking their noses in again and I can only work 60 hours a week. That means I loose time and a half and double time pay so I've took a pay cut

That really grinds me and as something that Cameron should definitely add to his claw-back-from-the-EU list. People should be able to work whatever hours they want past a certain amount and if agreeable by the employer. 60 should be the legal limit, but it should be read that more can be worked if employee and employer agree.

Ha I wish! The pace your required to work at for hours on ends is staggering. It is a hot, sweaty, horrible job which no one else will do. There are other staff in my store who when told they are on fries just clock out and go home.

They would rather miss 2 days work than work that station.

I work at one of the UK's busiest stores where we frequently make £2000+/hr selling 99p burgers. We average about one car served ever 16s at peak times.

We're very busy. And sufficed to say, it's a lot of fries XD

£2000 an hour? - is it owned by McDonald's or by a Franchisee?

I guess the owners can make rather a lot if they've got the right location...

Tbh.. as much as people known the idea of working at McDonalds I'd bet that someone who is reasonably smart would do reasonably well if they stuck at it - i.e. if you started as a teenager you'd surely be managing a restaurant by the time you were in your 20s and could potentially be on a serious wedge by the time you hit 30... Apparently they have a grad scheme too...
