Greatest FPS and why?

For me it gos like this.

Mp, Medal of honor allied assault, great maps and weapons, the first fps i played online.

Sp, cod4 mw1, brilliant story line.

Too many choices !!

For me:

SP: HL or AVP on Jaguar (seeing as others have included console games)
HL just had everything - epic graphics, storyline, length of play, unique - AMAZING.

AVP was just the scariest game I've ever played! Three games in one each was longer than these modern games you get now. Gfx were also epic for the time (1994 iirc) and that motion sensor - tense stuff.

MP: For me it's simple - TFC. No game has the manoevrability that TFC offers, the skill ceiling is like no other game out there. You've got concing, ramp sliding, concaim, nade jumps rocket jumps, clan play, AVD it's just complete. People saying TF2 is just daft imo no-one will be playing TF2 2019 I dont think but people still play TFC. CS 1.6 ofc is still the most popular STEAM game so deserves credit i just find it boring because it doesnt have as many skills as TFC has.

If you don't know now, you never will......

Quake 1 with Duke Nuke 3D a close second for single player

BF2 multiplayer (yet to sample 3 )

Good choises

Dont bother. I would stick with the fond memories of BF2 tactical gameplay rather than playing something that looks the bomb but it just an arcade firefight fest

Maybe I just cant find the right servers but I found the people playing BF2 actually spoke to you, gave you commands etc.

All the games ive had in BF3 I had no interaction from my team members at all, usually end up with 3 engineers and me as a medic. Bf2 was all about working together to get clear points captured. Nothing is really clear in BF3

Sp - I would say Stalker, but to me that is more of a hybrid of two genres, fps and rpg. Though it's a little stronger in the fps genre than the rpg, it certainly is stronger than a fps with a mild rpg addition like an rps (role playing shooters) such as Borderlands. Completely polar to Stalker, a title with very strong fps and rpg mechanics would be something like System Shock 2, Deus Ex or E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy. So after all that, I'd have to say F.E.A.R :D Why? Well, I think it's due to the storyline and atmosphere. I don't mind a linear game that has been well crafted, and for me F.E.A.R most definitely was.

Mp - CS:S

TF2 has been out for over 4 years now and the player base has only ever increased, especially in the last few months

For me it has to be Doom, the game was just on another level. Kinda feel abit sad now thinking about the good old days, so many insanely good games...

I've had a few comedy moments where i was in a room with a single opponent and no weapon to hand. Tried killing him with my defribulator, then lobbed a med pack at his feet. I was still getting used to the gamepad controls at that point. In the end he stabbed me in the back.

I know what you mean! Doom is still playable today despite the basic gameplay and graphics, I don't think I've ever been so on edge playing a game as I was playing Doom with a set of headphones on, some of those monsters sounded very creepy!!

Forgot all about that. Do you mean the jedi academy one? Love the MP battles on that. You had to have fast reflexes and button bashing diving around :D

Mainly Dark Forces 2 and Jedi Outcast, Academy was mediocre for me.
