****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

It's vivid even onnlow brightness though. I don't like high brightness because it's too bright to what I'm used to. My monitors are calibrated so follow a set process for brightness and having the phone brighter than them is just odd to my eyes.

In the sun outside is the only time I up the brightness. Absolutely no need anywhere else where 30% is just fine.

I just don't want to have to configure it every time I want to use it. I want it ready to use instantly.

I just got fed up with not being able to find a decent notification widget for widget locker that simply displays the sms icon or phone icon on a missed event. The stock does it quite well, and even has music control :)

Tried Missed it! but last time I checked it was just text icons.

Does anyone else prefer the stock GS2 lockscreen? Ended up disabling Widget Locker..

I like the notification part but think they could have come up with something more eligant to unlock the phone when you don't have any notifications.

Never liked Widget Locker, did like Go Locker though.

My S2 is going great guns except for just the last couple of days, if I try and write an e-mail, it essentially locks up and I have to press the hard "home" key to get things working again!?!?!

Anyone experienced anything similar??

Thanks guys....

*edit* it only seems to be the default email client (which I use for my hotmail account) as the gmail one seems to work fine!?!?!

Recently I've had people complaining that they can hardly hear me when on the phone and I sound very muffled. Tonight a friend called who is quite techy so did a bit of testing with him.

It turns out if I switch the noise cancellation off (can only be done in-call) he said I am clear. A night and day difference.
I'm not holding the phone cack-handed covering the top mic.

Any ideas?

What's the latest stock rom? Maybe a reflash to the latest stock rom and set everything back up is a good start?

I've had people say I sound muffled on the phone, but those people live in the same town hundreds of miles away. People in my town said it sounds fine

Didnt really feel like makinga new thread, so thought I'd whack it here.

My phone won't sync properly with my music collection, and using transfer to device does sod all.

When it syncs it gets to 80% and then stops, as the memory is full - problem is, I have 4.85GB of music and the onboard alone is 11GB...

When I click Transfer to Device it comes up in the Task Manager but quite literally does nothing else.

Any ideas?

Fixed my mhl problem, I think it was a lack of power as its ok with my HP touchpad 2amp charger :)

If anyone decides to try this themselves read up and check its ok, its on your own head :)

Sorry, can't offer much advice as i never sync music, I just drag and drop.
If your using Kies, check you have the newest version.

Has anyone updated their google+ app only to have their widget disappear? It's not in the list of available widgets now after the update :/

If you just drag and drop does it still come up in the music selection?

Yes, to use drag and drop, you activate mass storage. Once you disconnect the phone from usb, that de-activates mass storage and the phone will run the media scanner and add any music you have added so that it shows up in the music app.

Doesn't matter where or what folder you add the music to.

To be honest, I buy most of my music from the Amazon MP3 store on the phone so don't do the above very often.

How do you set it to mass storage?

Depends how you have the phone set up.

Try the following and let me know if it works.

Connect your phone to the computer as normal.
Go into Settings on your phone, Select Wireless and network

Scroll down to USB utilities and click - then click on Connect storage to PC.

Your PC should then show the internal phone storage and your SD card, if you have one.

I don't have Kies installed so as soon as I connect my phone via USB to my computer. It allows me to drag and drop.

If you have any problems, disconnect the phone from the USB and make sure Kies is closed, check it's not running in the taskbar. Connect the phone back up via USB

Having trouble tethering to my laptop. Win7 is saying is has limited connectivity and I can't access the internet

Any ideas?

Wireless Tether or USB?

It can take some time for the network centre to pick up the IP and gain internet connectivity in some cases. It will work once the homegroups/domain type screen appears and you select work/public home etc.
