Give the game some time and a few patches and i will say it probably will be one of the best ever, there are too many bugs and unbalanced elements to consider it a great game atm imo.

TBH just a little more care over the maps would have improved the game greatly imo, i could forgive half of the unbalanced elements if the maps were awesome, but unfortunately they are not

yes it's a typo big deal

A typo would be something like you'rw, you've clearly missed out an apostrophe and a letter which makes it look like you didn't pay enough attention in your English lessons at school :p

Technically your is an acceptable use of the word you're. It's allowed in University Thesis's, so i don't see a problem with trying to start an argument over a word that is more then acceptable.

Really? but it's not the correct word, It's not even close to meaning the same thing, how can it possibly be deemed acceptable at University

This is ridiculous. I'm hours into the campaign and still don't understand why the main character is being interrogated by two angry officials. That's aside from the awful gameplay - where I can get one shotted by an RPG at any moment, and enemies get a direct target on me as soon as and whenever I stick my head out.

Not to mention the unpredictable mouse cursor movement :(

No idea, i gave up on sp as i found it terrible. As you say the enemies automatically know exactly where you are as soon as you move a mm out of cover, also the QTE's are unforgiveable. That said i did do a fair bit of sp until i found out that you don't even get to fly

While I think Battle Field 3 is a really good game, I certainly don't think it's up there with one of the best of all time.

Its a decent game but its not up there with Cod 4 or BF2.

The maps are way to small they are way to small for jets and 64 players.

Sure the graphics are good but Metro 2033, Crysis and Crysis 2 were better.

In my opinion they have tried to appeal to cod players to much, when I have played it there is no team players and thats the best thing about BF, all the teamwork it makes the game more enjoyable.

So, without reading through 468 pages, is the game worth it for someone who has more or less lost interest in pc games ?

I loved 1942, I liked Vietnam, I loved BF 2, I never got into Bad Company 2/found it boring...

Got the spec to run it max I think, ( GTX 570 & i7 should do fine ?), but I'm worried it's another game I'll throw cash at and never play, tbh, a lot of games I bought in the past year I regret and think ''I could have better spent that money on a night out.''.

I still like shooters like CoD4, but Bad company was crap imho, not because it was a bad game necessarily, but it offered nothing that made me want to play it. Tried it multiple times times and always quit within 15 mins thinking ''meh''.

Does it have the same fun factor as 2 & 1942 ? Does it have singleplayer skirmish like before BC2 ? I usually prefer to play against ai and get used to maps & vehicles before jumping online.

Video of the month! :D I'd love to know how he does those surprise C4 attacks undetected.

I've snuck up on snipers tons of times

But always prefered to knife them and get their dog tags rather than throw C4 at them. Might have to change tactics :D

Pretty new to this game, normally play Call of Duty and I cannot get to grips with flying the helicopters or jets?!?! I keep crashing, can't pitch or roll. I use a keyboard and mouse, what's the technique?? All at default control settings... saw some YouTube videos and these guys just look like experts, or are they using controllers like on PS3/XBOX?

Joystick.

Or learn to fly them, it's really easy, you just have to be aware of your surroundings.

Helos work off momentum, so to go forwards you need to tip the nose down and hold W, and to slow down you need to tip the nose up and tap W.

To roll just tilt the mouse to the left or right. To circle strafe, roll to one side hold W and turn (A/D) in the opposite direction.

Stay close to the ground or near a hill that you can easily run away behind to get out of lock. When you are locked don't use flares until you hear the very fast beeping sound (that means a missile has been fired and is on it's way to you).

When you have no flares run away behind a hill near your home base, don't go near the enemy base. Also helps considerably if you have a decent gunner who spots and types in chat/yells on vent where an aircraft is.

As for jets... I really can't be arsed trying to explain them as I haven't mastered them myself yet ;)

I have the same opinion on the older battlefield games aswell and imo bf3 is only slightly better than bc2 but still no where near as good as bf2,vietnam,1942
