6970 vs 570

Absolute nonsense!

Indeed your post is absolute nonsense as when I do the same search I get completely different results. Is my google broken? :p

Not too bad considering the latest Steam hardware survey shows that there is almost double the amount of Nvidia users compared to ATi/AMD ;)

Some of you need to stop dry humping the gpu vendors and buy whatever suits your needs at the time. "Loyalty" to a paticular company is ultimately retarded, especially when it comes to pc hardware. The driver debate is also ages old with some people reading off the same script they were handed 10 years back somehow thinking its still relevant, some people will have issues, others won't, thats pc gaming folks.

Thank you. :D

I'm a crossfire user and I still believe Nvidia does far superior drivers. I've used AMD/Nvidia equally over the years (based on value not loyalty) and I've typically had more issues with ATi/AMD.

Just like it's still not reporting CrossFire systems?

Hardly conclusive data since they have known about it for ages now!

Exactly what I'm talking about, it's pathetic how almost every thread with Ati in it has the old 'drivers are terrible' comment in it.

So roff mate, as I pointed out to you the other day in the sli thread, you discussed why one Nvidia card you owned had problems and then done the usual but Ati... when you didn't even use any of them!

Christ you won't let it lie will you, you're certainly clutching at straws now! So you're telling me the crossfire users make up how many percentage points? Another what 30%? LOL I'd be very surprised if it was any more than a 2% gain.

The problem is there appears to be at least as many posts if not arguably more concerning issues with ATi drivers as opposed to Nvidia drivers. When you consider (as I've highlighted above) that Nvidia cards outweigh ATi cards almost 2:1 you've gotta admit it doesn't look great? I mean you only have to look at posts like KNiVES who's a current ATi user:

Obviously ATi/AMD do some cracking cards for the money and I'm looking forward to their new high end hardware. The problem is there can be far too much arsing around getting the damn things to work properly! I mean you get one game working great but the cap version you've just installed messes another game up. ATi drivers are fine if you only play one game at a time and/or you don't mind messing around installing/uninstalling different preview drivers and caps. For someone who just wants to play games with the least amount of hassle (ie me) Nvidias drivers are a breeze in comparison, it's usually just a case of install driver - job done.....

The op didn't ask for a mass slating of each vendors drivers, both of which seem to have issues for a handful of people and are not representative of the majority of users.

You already have xfired 5850's why are you looking to change your setup?

Take a look at ~REALiTY's post, he's using Nvidia.

You used KNIVES opinion who like me is an ATI user, the difference being is my view doesn't suit you!

There are others in this thread that have the same view as me.

Having owned 10+ Nvidia cards including using Sli, and 3 Amd cards(4870 5870 and 6950's), my experiences with Amd have not been any better or worse than when I used Nvidia cards.

I read for years about the 'driver issues' and if I kept on listening I stupidly would never have tried Amd!

I'm NOT saying Amd's drivers are better, but this all just shows some of the shallow mindsets of some in here.:(

Assumptions are dangerous. just because I don't own a setup personally doesn't mean I don't have extensive experience of it.

As for a 6950 or 560 he has it in his budget to go a little higher than these and with more demanding games such as BF3 now out i though he may aswell go a little higher.

If we have the money I think a lot of us like to go that little bit extra if we can. So if the money is no issue get either the 570 or 6970 then Goates.

And I kind of wish I haven't mentioned my personal choice of cards based on which drivers I prefer in this thread, with all of the debating about it. :D
