Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

Apologies if this isnt allowed but noticed a few people were looking for a copy of bf3...i bought the physical copy on release day and then ended up getting another copy (digital) with my new system. Would be happy to sell the digital copy or do a trade.

Please delete if this breaks forum rules
 
Davamand peak conquest really winds me up. Just had a game where the enemy would repeatedly drop in soldiers to set up spawn points at our main spawn and it seemed it was me and 2 others at most trying to take them and the circling helicopter out. The rest of the tards on my teams were too busy in the Tunnel to help.

Unsuprisingly we lost. :rolleyes:

Also had another buggy moment ingame, was running along and just stopped dead for no reason, had to drop to prone and get up again to start moving, by that time id been shot. The keyboard took a right wallop after that happened needless to say.
 
Why don't people who can't fly learn on an empty server, just got killed three times on [TFU ] CONQUEST | UK | NORMAL | OCUK | by people desperate to get the chopper! James_sasso threatened to ban me for commenting, so going to avoid that server if that's the attitude.

Going back to Bonken to avoid the power trip admins of the TFU servers

Aye, have to love 12 year olds who think theyre god with admin privelages. Seems to be more and more of them these days looking for any reason possible to get off by kicking or banning someone.
 
Battlefield 3 is my main game at the moment. I'm playing at graphics settings and frame rates that I want (+60fps). But I've been neglecting the sound.

Picked up a set of Roccatt Kaves last week, spent most of the weekend configuring them with my XFI XtremeGamer to get the best sound in game. Now the XFI cards have three modes, Entertainment, Audio Production and Game mode. You would have thought Game mode would give the best result.... WRONG!

Here are my settings:

Entertainment Mode
5.1 Mode
Crystalizer ON 50%
Bass 67%
Treble 67%

On the Kave control pad set center and front to half way up and rear a bit higher. Sub should be close to the top.

Battlefield 3 sounds soooo much better! Gone is the hallow sounding bass and over exaggerated treble, the game sounds as it should. If the bass isn't enough for you, you can always set Bass Redirection Enabled - Crossover Freq. 70Hz, Sub Level 100% but I found it gets bassy.

p.s. funny how I got better sound by not using game mode lol

As for the Roccatt Kaves.... awesome headset for just £65! At first when I connected them up I found there was no bass and the sound was tinny. It wasn't until I started messing with the XFI settings until I unleashed the awesomeness of these headsets! The 5.1 surround sound works perfectly, some say 5.1 headsets are a gimmick... they are defiantly now. You just need to spend the time setting them up properly thats all. If your looking for a new headset I would defiantly recommend these :)

You have to laugh at the people saying that COD is better than this, I know this game has some flaws but its vastly superior to any of the Call of Duty's and I have every COD game both for PC and Console each version.

I'd even go as far as to say that BF2 vastly superior to any of the Call of Duty's.
 
I just hope to (insert super natural non-existant deity here) that they don't butcher the Karkand maps.

I've got a really bad feeling about this. (Han Solo - Star Wars)

bronkens the best server i have been on in this game....regular base of players seem to be on most nights aswell which helps a lot.

personal opinions isnt it really ?

for me its a decent game. is it better than other fps games ive played ? some yes some no.

call of duty 1 and uo destroy this for me and so does cod 4 . not all about graphics tbh. theres some real stupid stuff in this game which dumbfounds me as to why or who they have testing it during it being made.

graphically i think its not the best aswell. it is a bit like crysis 2 style nice big and bold bits but the depth of say crysis 1 or even bfbc2 graphics just arnt in this.

will be interesting to see after a month how many drop off this game once they either ranked up or just dont like it.

why they added the mirrors edge volt i really dont know its irritating and a lot of the time it doesnt work properly.
 
Anyone else noticing that quite a few servers are starting to remove the AA vehicles? Thats at least 3 or 4 ive been in the past few days where the lav or tunguska just don't spawn.
 
Loving the game, but one thing that's pulling me away from it is being shot behind cover.

I was just on a server and every death of mine bar one, was from running behind a building, massive concrete wall and still dying to a gun.

It's getting to the point where, its making me not want to play the game anymore.

It is sooooooooo much worse than it ever was in BFBC2, especially as people took more bullets.

Thanks. I do feel a little bad though, many many times i have been running along and suddenly it has come with double kill at the bottom of the screen:D Mines seem to stay there forever
 
Getting bf3 tomorrow or tue. Do i need the latest drivers or will the 280.26 driver work fine with my gtx 460 1gb card that is overclocked?

Downloading the latest ones atm but i hate changing drivers with safe mode and driver sweeper and all that.

I agree, I play that server all the time but it was full. However I just found a good 64man rush server and just spawned in an A-10 Warthog - it's practically found a new love for this game for me. I love that plane and I actually managed to fly it and kill stuff. I was in heaven :cool:
