The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

So is anyone else getting an issue where every time they boot skyrim in steam it performed the first time setup and tries to install directx again? It's doing my nut in. Any help greatly appreciated.
 
Cancelled my SimplyGames Skyrim Pc game for the Tesco offer with the map included, cost me an extra 13p, came yesterday. Had also ordered the Xbox 360 version of Skyrim from Simply and it also came yesterday.:)
 
My Tesco preorder with map arrived today, impressed - only ordered last Saturday too. Would use them again. :)
cant wait to get home from work today and boot the game up.

Just vented my frustration on their webnote system. Pointless I know.

I was actually doing the washing up this morning as I watched the postman go past my house with nothing for me.
 
been playing the game since 5 this morning. its absolutely brilliant! only issue i have is that my inventory seems to get full pretty quickly and i hate not looting everything

Alteration and Restoration have lots of defensive spells, but they need to be perked to make them usable in combat otherwise they cost too much.

Alteration has lots of armor and defense buffs, along with perks that make them last longer when unarmored, and also twice as strong.

Restoration has ward spells, that work and look like magical barriers that you channel in front of you. All incoming damage that hits the ward, both physical and magical is reduced by 40 for the very first novice ward spell. But without the novice restoration perk it is completely unusable as it costs too much.

I'm still only at level 3 novice destruction and dual overcharge taken first, that is very powerful at the start of the game as you simply burn everything dead. But the boss in the first dungeon was very hard and I had to run around him to avoid taking damage while my blue bar filled to kill him (I dont like wasting magicka pots, but one of those could have been used on the boss fight too).

Normal mobs wont be hard at all with those two destruction buffs. After that I'm taking the novice restoration + alteration perks so I can start using those spells without completely burning up the spell bar, then saving up until I have 40 destruction and 30 restoration for Impact and the bonus Magicka Regeneration.

Think I am going to go heavy armour and dual wield - can get some serious damage in! Did try light armour, but I am just not quick enough at getting out the way!

Anyone think smithing is useful? Is it the only way to get some armour?
 
Just buy the damn game from steam and sell your key on members market after or return it.

Better than waiting for god knows how long to get it.
 
Well I for one am glad I use Shopto. Never had an issue with pre-orders always got the games a day or two early. So I will continue to use Shopto. All those that pre-ordered with that simplyuslessgames... YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE CHEAPED OUT ! :p

Yep, got mine from Shopto yesterday :) - I always get it early from them.
 
Looks like I shall have to go out and buy it in the shops. When my "pre order" :rolleyes: from SimplyUseless arrives it will be returned for a refund.

I don't imagine I will get the postage costs refunded to me. Then again, if I use the same level of postage they used for me it should be pretty cheap :p
