Besdies, the people who rely on it will find themselves stuck when there are loads of level 45 colonels running round in Spec Ops black cammo which blocks your heat signature from these guns.

Had a quick blast on the co-op with a friend, great fun. First mission isn't here nor there but the second is fantastic, and the beginning of the 3rd when you're sneaking through counting down shots over coms is superb.

problem is, COD sells 6 million copies on launch day with a SP like this. So DICE assume that this is what the consumer wants from a single player game.

The problem is, DICE can't compete with Call of Duty when it comes to SP, but it can compete when it comes to MP [i've played CoD:MW3 SP, and it's leagues ahead of BF:3's SP].

DICE should ignore SP and just focus on MP, because that's their strong point.

I strongly disagree (i have both games) and imho EA Digital Illussions CE beat modern warfare's single player and multiplayer. I like mw3 but it's really nothing special, fun yeah but Battlefield 3 is the clear winner in sp and mp imho.

Well, i'm not going to challenge your personal tastes in games, but i disagree with BF:3 haven't the better SP.

Ok, i noticed last night that my game averages 18-25fps

I have the following:
i5 750
4GB ram
5850

None of it is overclocked, is it worthwhile overclocking any of it or is it time to upgrade something? If so what should be upgraded?

hi you have a config issue with those specs running cleanly you should be getting over 40-50fps at about 1080p or similar. perhaps reinstall drivers or reduce gfx detail from ultra to high. removing hbao and also msaa also helped.

If that was my system, I'd overclock the i5 750 and upgrade the 5850

dice should just focus on bf and what makes it strong which is big maps vehicles and mp

leave cod to be cod as it does the fast, short range game better.

thing is to get the money ea will ignore this and try and blend the cod features into bf series to get the cod money.

at end of day action thick and fast is what the majority want not treking for ten minutes.

im not going over it myself as numerous people in here get 60 fps with magical 5850s on ultra in here

try med settings 1920x1080 for a start

settings that really hurt fps in bf3 are shadows and msaa .

BF3 vengeance

Yeah, I was starting to think that, my emails to EA weren't that bad.
Sussed it, should have known it was my vram, by the stutter. It was fine on Ultra textures before, (the only setting I had on Ultra) knocked them down to high and not a jutter now.

The auto gfx setting seems to work pretty well in my experience on two different PCs.
