Yep, as well as a few others. One of which shoots spears of ice and does quite a lot of damage. I'll check once I'm home.

Tbh I don't really use a main spell. I just switch between whichever does the most damage to certain types of enemies.

I think I need to get away from Winterhold and do some other questline. It's starting to drag a bit. I want to see a dragon!

Bit disappointed in the lack of conjuration options though. There only seems to be one atronach per skill rank (novice, apprentice, etc) rather than a multitude of creatures. Seems you need to concentrate more on necromancy if you want to get by.

What level are you? Have you just been out exploring round the area? There are quite a few creatures you can summon you just need to give it time and practice.

In case no one has noticed, if you click on flags on maps in war rooms it updates their location on your own map.

I don't really spend much gold so I've always got enough for stuff like that. Sitting on around 20k at the moment. :p No houses or horses bought as I have them for free.

How are you getting by, G-MAN? Are you using destruction magic or something else? What level?

EDIT: And for those of you who were saying Destruction Magic is useless above a certain level, what spells were you using?

I had destruction at 84. So all the expert level spells (Wall of flames, Icy spear etc).
Once you learn these life is good for a few levels, but quickly health out strips your ability to do damage as there's no way to increase spell damage past the perks available.

Difficulty probably makes a difference though, I'm playing 1 notch below the max.

I find them more useful then the necromancy options tbh. My Ice Atronach is a bit old now though (I haven't finished the mages quest yet, I'm at a part where purchasing spells is disabled for one reason or another i won't get into due to spoilers so i can't upgrade him yet =( ) but towards the end of the tree you can summon two, who last permanently, and have really high health (ice) and damage (lightning)

My new approach now which works really well is to use either a good revive (frost tiger or something) or my Ice Atronach when in a dungeon with just weak humanoid mobs. Also using armor/stat buffs and wearing perked heavy armour. Weapon wise I'm using a summoned sword in one hand and a quest dagger (for now) in the other which has a 5% chance on hit to kill the target instantly. When i out level this ill disenchant it for future use.
1h is perked too - 30% crit chance. 40% attack speed with DW'ing, 100% damage increase (along with 50% damage increase to summoned weapons in the conj tree)

Going much easier :)

How the heck :(
I keep being overweight and not keeping stuff, never get far over 1k either as I disenchant the good stuff I pick up.

What level are you and where are you stashing stuff? Are you just using accommodation provided by the guilds?

As a Thane of Whiterun, I have settled there with a nice property with plenty of storage.

What level are you? I'm in a similar situation to Gman now, you reach a point where there's no point in buying stuff as you already have good/great armour and have enchanted it with regen/damage. So other then 'new' effects i want to disenchant it all just gets sold.

Level 11

ps: any mages here wearing heavy armour?

Haven't really got into this, I loved Oblivion and I love this, just haven't had the time, bah!

Anyway, I am determined to play this more. I need a house, how much to I need? 5k in gold isn't it? Does that 5k house have ANY storage? So I can start stashing goodies. I haven't got my guide book at work.

On another note, if anyone needs help that the guide book may offer, feel free to ask! Happy to post pics etc.

Loving this game - like Oblivion, I can see it sapping all my time away :D

Level 18 now, and a few missions into the Thieves Guild, also joined the Dark Brotherhood last night, only just killed the dragon on the main quest - been pottering about mainly (one of the things I love about this game).

No issues with the game itself, it's pretty much more of Oblivion, though I can't decide if the graphics when out in the wilderness are better or worse; though I'm probably remembering Oblivion through rose tinted glasses.

Man, I have so many games to finish and eff all time - who'd be an adult eh!

I don't get how people have these uber spells, I'm at the mage college I checked the books and all I could find was the first two destruction spells and first two conj spells. I'm also at the part were you can't buy so can't check... So annoying :(

Granted I'm only level 12 -.-

I'm absolutely loving Skyrim at the moment, wish I was off work so I could play it more. I'm currently level 13 I think, playing as an archer mainly, with a Dwarven Bow of Burning (10 points of fire damage per shot) as my main weapon, going 1H and shield when enemies get too close. I always like to try and stay relatively balanced, so I may start using my magic more to take out weaker enemies instead of simply sniping them from a distance.

I've got my house in Whiterun fully kitted out, and I've really enjoyed the simple things like being able to put my spare books on the shelf, a sword or two in the stand, and keeping all my ingredients in the apothecary bag next to my alchemy table. Little things like that just make the game better IMO.

I'm not currently playing through any particular storyline/guild with any purpose. I tend to just do whatever quests, main, side or otherwise, in the area I'm in, and explore while I'm out. It makes for some great fun for me as I love simply wandering off and exploring. I've joined the Companions so far but not the Mages Guild or the Dark Brotherhood. I'm sure I'll find them soon enough.

I love the randomness about the game as well. I was off to kill the bandit leader at some place or other, and when I got close, I discovered an Imperial Outpost. While I was there, it popped up that I had slain the bandit leader and I needed to go and get my reward. It turned out that the bandit leader tried to steal something from the Imperial camp (at least that's how it looked), and got taken to pieces by the guards before I could even notch an arrow. Top stuff :D
