The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Im a full-on mage,

  • Make sure you spend some of your level ups on Magika and ignore health and stamina
  • Concentrate on a pair of specialisations for your perks. I have concentrated on Destruction and resurrection
  • Do the mages guild quest line, the end rewards and loot make life a lot easier!
  • Use Runes to set up booby traps and get the dual fire perk and the stagger one above that, (buys you a lot of time!)

Im level 15 now and just getting to the stage where I feel quite powerful

dunno why people are wanting to reroll in the lower levels, just carry on playing and wear whatever, attack with whatever you want. you dont need to reroll at all really. The bonuses given based on character select are so small it almost becomes laughable by the mid game.

Quite enjoyed the witches quest last night, thought it was solid at first but once you realise to dodge three of their fireballs they run out of mana and you can just blast them with whatever. level 90 smithing aswell! 100 tonight foosure.

Iv realised my biggest nemises are the snow cats , even one can kill me instantly - there much harder than dragons imo lol.

easily GOTY and just pips DE:HR which I really loved too.

Having an amazing time with the game so far. The scenery is just utterly jaw dropping tbh. All that in a 6GB package is rather hard to believe too as I was expecting the game to be just over 10GB when I first begun preloading. Can't wait for silly high res texture mods to appear.

Spent about 2 hrs journeying on foot frol Solitude towards Windhelm yesterday and had an utter blast walking across volcanic land towards snow/iceberg filled sea shores and finally towards woodland areas near Windhelm.

I fought off two dragons during my journey, countless sodding bandits and sabretooth cats only to get beaten up by an 'Old Orc' outside Windhelm who challenged me to a 'duel'. FFFFFFFUUUUUU

Kainz, Lv17 sword/shield noob with a mohawk.

So is playing this going to be like me playing world of warcraft for the first time was back in 2005.... but y'know good?

My last two days of playing have consisted of just walking around the mountains north of Whiterun towards Winterhold opening up the map locations I come across. I haven't even touched any of the dungeons. I do prefer fighting in the wilderness though.

I just started the game again and didn't realise you could choose who to go with once the Dragon attacks when your a prisoner. I went with the cloak one where you go an see his sister and not the Blacksmith.

What a nightmare i stayed up in skyrim till just gone 12am and baby woke up at 3am missus was with other little one so i had to get up! Stuck at work now till 4 , so tired :( no skyrim tonight for me :(

Started saturday morning with an archery/sneak lizard - great fun, up to level 15 nailing everything from sneak when suddenly I thought, I wonder what melee's like?

Started Sunday night with a 2 handed Nord warrior, heavy armour and smithing, 2 hit kills maximum and the finishing animations are great. And then I thought how does the magic compare to previous TES games?

So started a Breton mage last night, destruction & conjuration mainly. So every enemy that gets killed by fire, gets raised and then killed again just for the skill increases & fun of it. Level 10 and all I've done so far is the golden claw crypt after leaving the starting area ;)

In short, loving all 3 methods of death & destruction in their own way - and by having 3 different characters, I can satisfy my min/max tendancies and flit between what I fancy playing at the time. Loving this game, such an excellent job of maintaining the feel of TES games, but bringing it to a massive new audience, I can see this one being a fave for a long time.

I dunno why but I've never liked playing mage characters in TES games. Stealthy buggers for me!

im a redguard, nearly level 8 aint even opened the door yet. just got into whiterun, done the lights out quest, rescued gray manes brother.

i want my character to be a bad ass warrior so wanna train him up in combat.

EDIT: oh ye im now a Companion:D

I went with a heavy armored s&b warrior type, with some restoration chucked in for support. All's fine until I come across groups of skilled mage, all with streaming magic, pretty much have jug potions before even getting a hit off on each one. I'm hoping some resist gear and some perks will help out, but I feel like resto wards and the shield elemental perk wont be massively helpful, because ultimately you walk slower (with the shield up anyway) and wards burn magika super quick (I'm not investing in any extra magika as it seems pointless for usually the odd heal). I'll see how it goes, I'm not rerolling until I manage the game with this!

Oh and PS; I'm loving the story involving the drinking competition, lead to lots of extra adventures :)

Not sure if i will stick with dual-wielding or go with sword and shield now, i don't have that great armour atm so could do with a bit of extra protection. I have spread my perk points quite thinly so far, a bit in archery, speech, block and sneak, and mostly in one-handed, destruction and Light armour.

Oh and any tips on quests which will get me some decent light armour?
