****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Is there anyway of setting wi-fi preferences? For some reason at home it's defaulting to a crappy BT openzone connection that it's picking up, instead of my home connection.

Long press on the open zone connection and select Forget network, then connect to your home network, but if you use Openzone when your out and about, you will need to re connect.

Alternatively, perhaps Lama (on the market) or Tasker, could be used to force the connection based on location?

I forgot the network this morning, but I'm sure I've already done that. Have used Llama in the past but stopped using it as it wasn't accurate enough - it kept thinking I was at work when I was in town at the weekend.

Mine seems to auto connect to open zone randomly too when out and about - It's weird!

Anyway, I've installed the latest Oxygen 2.3.2 ROM and will check out how stuff is on it until ICS is released :p

No Samsung apps in there as it's AOSP of course. Launcher2 is used.

Edit*

Didn't like it, back to LeoMar (again) lol.

Hmm my SII is acting really weird lately :(

Can't for the life of me connect to my home wireless, 3G/H connectivity is really unstable, the battery drain has shot up (about 50% over night - which i'm assuming is related to the dodgy data connection) and RAM usage is up to around 650/700MB (was previously about ~400MB).

Haven't installed any apps or ROMs/tweaks at all.... argggh :'(

I was wondering what the best (in your opinion) ROM is for this phone? Im looking at upgrading the firmware as ive been on standard 2.3.3 for a while now and i havent tried any on the custom firmware. I did with my SGS 1 and it improved the peformance greatly so i was wondering which one to go for?

Is there anyway of getting BBC iPlayer app to play directly on the phone? It says needs Wifi to play.

Is there not a way of disabling this? I have the 'all you can eat' data package so would be happy for it to download and play via my mobile carrier.

Andy ideas?

Yes use the website instead as its higher quality video and much better featured.

Is that actually more impressive than it appears to be?

Black screen and error message isn't really a port.

Yes because there are no mali drivers for ICS, So this is basically being hacked together. They now have hardware acceleration working as well as the UI.

Still going to be a while though but hopefully we'll have a stable rom out soon. Before Samsung get off their butts anyhow.

I've only had my phone a week, but mine is taking a seriously long time to charge the battery from nearly dead to the phone advising me that it's fully charged - in the region of 3 hours.

The battery charger that came supplied with the phone is a tiny little travel adapter that outputs 0.7Amps at 5.0Volts. Is this the norm?

Well i decided and i got the Galaxy S2

should be here tomorrow

Now i consider myself an advanced technically minded user (tho i have zero experience with android)

i will want to customize this thing extensively as i find the default UI and icons rubbish from the pics and reviews ive seen

what is the first few things i should do once i get it like with UI mods and custom roms etc can anyone suggest some good forums to guide me

and can anyone recommend me a fast 32gb card

willing to spend up to £60 on a decent one

got loads of videos i want to transfer over

Yes it takes 3 hrs to charge from dead - a more powerful charger won't help as the SGS2 is setup to draw less thaN 0.7A.
