The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Seems that you need to be about level25 before back-stabbing becomes possible - can't get near anyone before they hear me, guessing you need to max the first stealth perk and get some stealthy buffs?

Have played 4 hours of this and done 1 side quest...just been running around and looking at everything, hunting random animals and just soaking it up, gorgeous game!

Also if you've contracted vampirism (again) can you just eat an ingredient that resists disease or do you need to actually drink a disease cure?

No, you just need to stop running whilst sneaking unless you have muffle or the silent running perk. It's quite annoying as walking is incredibly slow but it works. You can get a pair of boots with muffle from the Dark Brotherhood, alternatively you can use the spell OR wait till you can get the perk which is req 60 or so I believe.

Also anyone who plays a stealth character, the silent roll is awesome.

Muffled movement helps, but just upping your overall sneak level will do it as well.

I started my character again this morning, due to the fact i felt as though i was rushing around like a lemming, Also i didnt realise at the very start you can choose who you follow, instead of following the imperial guard i followed that prisoner, not sure what that changes in the game, but i keep getting told to watch out for imperials now lol.

Quick question, sorry if its been covered but there are just a few thousand posts to go through lol !
Lydia had to be left behind when I did a mission for the companions, she was replaced with that werewolf dude.
Now that I've completed that mission where do I find her again? I did'nt just tell her to wait or anything it was all done automatically as per the mission.

Help appreciated. thanks!

I got stuck on the mission with the silver hands, had to leave it so i have had the werewolf women following me about for ages lol

Lydia will most likely be in the Jarls palace filling her face which is where i found her one time or in your house if you have bought one.

Definitely think I'm going to try my own weird class, consisting of:

One hand
Destruct
Restoration
Archery
Sneak
Light Armour

With some alchemy/enchant/smithing thrown in for Dragon Light armour.

Also find that I get my butt kicked by more than one mage at a time, but absolutely demolish bandit mobs.... Definitely need to get some wards sorted...

kd

This is exactly my class lol.

Level 30 now, working well for me.

Thanks Max, I'll take a look when I get in.

Another thing I have been wondering, with all the Werewolf talk going on etc. What are the downsides to becoming one? How is it cured?

im at that stage as well and cant decide whether to become one or not. i guess it is irreversable?

Was adventuring earlier, came across a camp that wasn't on the map / hud. Found a journal there that said they were exploring and came across a trade caravan that was hijacked and they were going to investigate the cave up the mountain path later on. So I went and had a look a there was more journal inside to read up on with "other things". It's nice just randomly stumbling on things that aren't even on the map :)

Curable. Pro's and con's are here.

You can activate it and deactivate it. You can also get a cure. The only down side is that you cannot get the "well rested" bonus from sleeping. I think the pros outweigh the cons. The werewolf is pretty savage.

Regarding the Companion stuff:

Also, I got myself invited to the Dark Brotherhood this morning. I enjoyed the quests leading up to that stage. Especially the one to kill the mean lady :D

Spoiler tags failing again >,<

I don't understand how they can sometimes work and then just fail. They're so random. As you can see, my direct quote of your post shows the proper spoiler tag!
I think you have to use the "advanced" posting to get spoiler tags working and only by clicking the spoil button, not just the quick reply such as this post is using the advanced post which leads to:

Spoilers!

Edit: Actually no, I can quick reply and use SPOILER tag and it works. Weird! Although I had a post earlier in the thread that was spoiler'd properly with the button and everything. I saw the post later in the day and the spoiler tags weren't working, so I edited it and they worked again. It's quite odd :p
