Nope.

Just played just over an hour with zero issues. I presume PB checks for hacks as you join the server.

An hour with no hardlock for me is a record!

That's awesome thanks for the update, my brother-in-law has been having the same crash and I can finally give him some good news!

The game is definitely way more challenging without IRNV !!

Imo IRNV seems to facilitate cod/cs style gameplay where shooting enemies is all that matter in a fast paced style with hardly any regard for objective gameplay.

Without IRNV, you have to be constantly seeing your back aswell as trying to locate enemies. This tends to favour Battlefield style gameplay requiring stealth, planning and sneaking up on the enemies to complete objective. More skill involved but does get somewhat boring due to slow pace of gameplay.

I would definitely like to see IRNV nurfed so we get a mix of both gameplay styles.

The starting weapons on this are seriously poor. I'm getting disconnected every 2nd game as well which is infuriating me even more than how crap the weapons are.

That depends on the player using it

I use the IRNV most of the time and I try my best to work as a team as people who I've played as a squad with will agree (hopefully :p )

I use it to try and spot enemies where I know the general direction of fire but cant see exactly where. It helps me tell my squad mates where that enemy is (i.e. hiding in a bush next to a crate)

The trouble is with games is you can't really force people to play as a team if they don't want to.

Game doesn't know what it wants to be imho. I've not played it now since Tuesday because it started to be more of a grind to play and not fun. There are perhaps 2 maps that are successful in what they intend and the rest are just trapped in no man's land between dire infantry play and stiffled vehicle play.

Operation firestorm / kharg / noshar / caspian are perfect example of a map that on the surface looks good but is devoid of the element of fun. To cramped for armour to engage in meaningful battles and yet its swamped with vehicles to the point where there is no infantry play. It becomes neither 1 nor the other.

Most maps follow the same flawed setup and become tiresome epically fast. It's a sad state when metro has become the best map and rush the dominant mode.

In summery its a game with fantastic promise let down by bad map design. My hope is that the new conquest assault mode somehow changes the dynamic and makes it more enjoyable otherwise its over for me at least.

How are people finding the PKP Pecheneg?

I've been trying to like it, but even deployed the recoil seems a little too harsh. I want to play with it and get more unlocks, but after a game of bazaar, I switched back to my luvable M249 and just found that all round, it was a better weapon.

I like it but the best is M240B imo

front grip + holo (USA) + extend mag = win

I don't know what the guy you are replying to is harping on about, but, with any gun (although most noticeable with guns that have recoil like the LMGs) go and hold left mouse button whilst aiming at something... notice recoil/kick only effects the first 4-5 shots and from then on without having to adjust all recoil disappears... I'd call that extremely nooby :D

How is it nooby ?

You still have to account for the kick / recoil and with your LMB ideally use your bipod to steady to counter act that initial kick.

Equally, the assault rifles actually work better on single shot mode because the single shot means very little recoil because you can steady the gun after each shot.

Or go prone, and do controlled bursts.

The aiming doesn't feel any different to BF2 to me. You could spray and pray in BF2 if you wanted. The comparisons that BF3 is some kind of COD spray n pray paradise while every other game had realistic recoil is just rubbish.

well no

Because its the players that define how they play the game. Not the scope

Those sorts of players will just do something else if the IRNV becomes useless. They will still run around only interested in kills whilst ignoring objectives. Just without an IR scope.

Battlefield has always had a mixed field of players, with some of it playing the game properly and following the objectives, and others just interested in their stats.
