The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Just bought this game yesterday on steam and today I started a wood elf archer character and went hunting deer straight away but couldn`t kill it, my arrows did pathetic damage even though I can kill wolves with two shots  Maybe I should have picked a fighter character you can`t go wrong with that one..Anyone else playing archer, should I stick with it? Also is there a way to make arrows at the blacksmith or you have to find/buy them?

You find clothes that give extra % to bow damage, also some cool bows, as you explore.

anyone ever use companions, as a sneaky type i find i have to leave them behind as they get me detected but equally when it forces you into a big fight it's hard to solo at times :(

why on earth did they make it so you can't craft arrows?

they're a major consumable and one of the main things i'd have thought you'd have crafted tbh.

is there a mod that lets you craft arrows?

Yep - http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=490

I'm also surprised it wasn't included within the game.

Genan the bow is awesome when you have a decent sneak and bow dmg as you can sneak into a cave and 1 shot kill mobs, same as in oblivion, ofc the harder the mobs then the more shots but if ur sneak is good then you can get 5-6 shots off before they 'find' you as for arrows i havent ran short of any so far and that was using nearly 50 to kill a mammoth when i was a low lvl ( hid in a hut so they couldnt get me :D )

daggers mean getting close, i like the distance with the bows, plus you can set up a nice fire rune further along so that if they get close they get hit with that aswell :D

IS the game supposed to be this jerky.

FRAPS is indicating 60FPS and I've tried reducing the settings further but its always not that smooth. Totally playable, but I keep having to check that I'm not experiencing slowdown.

Not very experienced with PC RPG's, so is it just a bit much to expect FPS smoothness?

I know what you mean. When I'm indoors horizontal movement of the camera feels jerky even though it's at 60fps but vertical movement and movement outdoors feels fine.

I think I broke Skyrim, Installed a few mods and now when I load a game, it takes a year or two, then CTD's....

Should I just erase the mod files or full install and re-mod?

Love my character, Glass Armor, and awesome magic :D

I'd remove the mod files and see if that works then add the mods again 1 at a time until you know which one breaks it.

How do you guys handle having full bags all the time? I'm constantly within 10 or 20 of max and am always having to drop stuff. I don't have a house to store yet so I've got nowhere to put a lot of my stuff.

Sell stuff or store it. Once I've sold stuff I'm usually sitting on 80 capacity. Be more conservative about what you pick up too. I usually only pick up stuff with a weight to gold ratio of 1:10+.

What exactly have you been doing all that time? :p Just I see a few people mention they are well into the game in terms of hours / levels but have hardly done much

College quest, companion quests, 100+ misc quests, 35 side quests, words quests, daedra quests and levelling stuff like blacksmithing, alchemy and enchanting to 100.
