***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

The weather widget looks like Palmary...

Spot on - Weather is Palmary Weather Widget Pro and Clock is Digital Clock Widget. I like the clock as you can set it so that when you touch it, brings up your alarms.

I know it's not the only one that does that but not all of them do and don't see the point in having ones that don't.

Also how is the typing on it? Will it be as easy, or hopefully easier as typing on my mini pro's QWERTY keypad?

The keyboard is good but try out Thumb Keyboard. It's brilliant and has some great feature which speed up typing. I can type a lot faster using Thumb Keyboard compared to stock.

Big pluses to me are
Brilliant word prediction
Can store regularly used things like email addresses/passwords to one key
Cursor keys make it easy to position cursor exactly where its needed

(charged my phone up for 30 mins, yay).

I use Opera Mini on my X10 mini pro, its soooo perfect with scrolling, double tapping for zoom, and a qwerty keypad.

But as soon as the galaxy nexus arrives, my mini pro gets sent back for a backlight repair or replacement, and then the replacement gets sold.

I wonder how much recycling on it is worth, I doubt it will be worth it.

Yeh I noticed it on mine and loads of people are complaining about it at the moment. There is a workaround for on xda i'll try and did up the thread.

i have not had any issues with volume.

just wanna double push the battery guys, the os seems smarter battery wise than gingerbread, i lose a lot less battery when the phone is idle than i did with my SGS2. heavy use it goes down at the same rate, but pleased with the idle use.

Well, do I want this phone? I'm no where near as sure as i was when I got my desire, if I do I will be ringing tmobile today wanting to leave, i always get like this when choosing a contract phone

May just have a look for any nice phones coming in December or jan

Do you think that it would last for the following use? 4 hours combination of 3g browsing, video, music and games alongside say 18 hours idle with intermittent checking for texts etc. (essentially - fully charge at night which then lasts me until the evening. Charging would ideally stop at night) How much battery would that leave me with?

Currently I manage that on my Magic with enough left over for another hour or two of video.

Has anyone had this problem?

I don't have that issue with volume. I think there are small build issues with the phone, just like there was with the iPhone 4s and other phones.

Some people are experiencing problems whilest others aren't. Not sure if that points to hardware or software faults. If it's software then I'm sure an update will be out soon enough.

If it's hardware, then it looks like it may only effect a certain batch or something like that.

Either way, it'll get fixed. Suppose this is what happens when your the launch country:D

If you haven't tried one yet, pop into a local shop and try it out. I'm sure that will increase your want level :D

someone got a bargain.

not really, you can get them new for £310 now even cheaper via cash back deals, mine also had a small scuff on the top. i think i would have got around £300 on ebay, but then seller fees and so on, listed on gumtree and sold within 3 hours.
