Used to. Not anymore. When I was the ops manager I used to pop in to work on Christmas to have a cup of tea with the staff. Can't wait for my 10 days off! :D

I can if I want and might still do it. Was supposed to go to Sweden with the new gf but since that's over now, I'm kinda stuck for something to do.

I'm doing 23rd through to 27th on days, though christmas day is only eight hours and I got morning shift, so I can still do dinner for the family in the evening at least.

I'm off for two weeks over Christmas but am on call New Year's Day :( Hopefully nothing comes in!

12:30 - 21:00 Christmas day and boxing day. No extra pay just part of my normal 39hr week!

Still the wife is on double time and a day in lieu both days so not a total waste!

Working either xmas eve or boxing day, would rather have Christmas eve off however but working boxing day 10-5 in a retail environment will kill my soul. Usually we open 1-5 but this year it's different.

Specifically told my boss i didn't want to work Christmas day.

So the smart cow put me on night shift Christmas evening, aswell as night shift New Years Eve and New Years Day.... Not impressed.

I just gotta work the 3 days between the bank hols 28th/29th/30th, then back on the 3rd Jan. I hate having to come back on the 2nd Jan because I always write a piece of music on that day.

Why do most pubs/clubs not accept Citizens card as ID. I'm sick of showing it them then them having to get the manager and checking my bank cards as well before letting me in.

It's very easy to lie on the forms for cards which bear the supposedly verified PASS logo and get a different date of birth on them, they're also not very well known never mind how well the scheme tries to sell itself as the accepted everywhere ID.
So the management decide that to lessen the risk the only ID they will accept is driving licences and passports and at the end of the day we are there to carry out the managements wishes.
