***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

Yep I had that same letter and bag.

I'll send them back the phone in it's sealed box. Will take some pics of the box for security before it goes. Will also send the pack the pay monthly SIM come in, minus the SIM, which has already been cut up. I'll write the returns number somewhere too :)

I can't help noticing the bag my Three phone, ordered from three.co.uk, on the 'from' part, has a sticker which says 'DSL', under which is printed Phones4U, on the bag! Are Phones4U dealing with sending out three.co.uk phones?

Write down your name, address, post code, DOB, order number and returns number on a piece of paper and include that.

I rang customer services right now in a panicky state. They didnt catch that I had already posted it and told me to do that and I was like 'BUT ITS ALREADY POSTED! OMG HALP!'.

The person spoke to someone else there, aand came back and said not to worry, it will be fine as long as I have a tracking number for the postage.

Now I just have to wait for my new CPU to arrive, then go to the bank if there's enough time, or go tomorrow to cancel the direct debit.

Out of interest for my own reports regarding this handset - jim, you in a low signal area? that's quite some idle/standby radio use. That's unless you may be going through a lot of 2g zones, that can really mess with those figures.

Is the lack of file drag and drop some sort of error or is there some ulterior motive at work?

Don't know the reasoning behind it but you can drag and drop whatever you want.

Just will be a pain to pick up by things like xbox, linux and car stereos.

Whilst I haven't missed having it as USB Mass Storage, I'd prefer to have it.

was tempted by the slightly dubious link on the comparrison website £150+£20.5/mth 24 months 50mins/250texts/1GB

but its on 02 and too risky to buy without a fix as id be on 2g most of the time

Well, my phone from 02 never turned up. Out of stock now aparently when it was in stock when I ordered. I suspect Samsung have recalled them for patching. Also, the phone is coming up as £450 on my account when I was promised it for £390! Really not impressed at all

Just took a call in a 2G area and had to keep my finger on the volume up button or I couldn't hear the guy. I hope this gets fixed soon. No more word other than "we have developed a fix".

OK, so at 0500 last night I took the following:

This morning when I was reading these very forums she died at about 1310. I took these at 4% battery at 1300.

I had just made another few short phone calls. Since my first check in earlier in the thread, I send an additional 20 texts, 2 MMS, took 1 x 2 minutes 1080p video, received another 15 or so emails, sent another 5. Talked on Gtalk, played some cut the rope (explains the FAST DROP at about 0530.) So overall not too bad, I am happy enough with that!

Been on to O2 and they are going to honour my deal. The Nexus is not going to be in stock until the 28th though. I'm guessing this is new stock flashed with the volume bugfix.

My deal works out at £533 total for 12 months including the phone, 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb data! After I have sold the iPhone 4 that will be down to about £300 :)

Right then, gone and cancelled with handtec seeing as my local stores have the thing.

Much as i appreciated their problems with samsung uk, the thing will be fixed via an update and i'll be using the three network anyway!!

Grr, be glad when this is all over with tbh all they did is push the date forward, the 4th time now!!

I have the patience of a saint, but that took the mick.

How much per month? anything for the phone?

I'll probably stick with my 24m deal and pay it off after month 9 when tariff drops are allowed, but interesting to see what people are getting on 12m :)

The thing I find odd is that they obviously have the fix ready to flash all the recalled stock but they aren't making it available for all the current users having problems

It takes time to release a fix. They have to test it using different scenarios, ensure that it doesn't have an adverse effect on other parts on the software etc. If they send out a quick fix and it causes other problems it'll just make things worse.

Also the amount of people suffering from the issue is very minimal compared to the number of handsets out there. I wouldn't be surprised if they're not even treating this as a critical issue.
