Physicull -- unlocks won't take very long. I'm level 46 and it's basically done bar the recon class which I really am not looking forward to doing. Recon sucks compared with BC2 as guns aren't particularly deadly up clOse like in BC2 so promote hanging back, which just bores the bejesus out of me.

Just equip the USAS-12 as recon and go hunting on close urban maps like Metro and Grand Bazar

points are points, no matter what gun you use

How on earth do you deal with jets?

Fly low, and hope they don't notice you.

I had a game the other day where i was constantly running away from jets. Landing almost, to make sure they want past me etc.

The enemy pilot just gave up and rammed into me

Ok someone please explain why I was kicked from Smogsy's server twice tonight?

The 1st time was out of the blue, battlelog stated I was kicked and I rejoined and all was well for the rest of the sessioon. The 2nd time was just now, I killed some of the other team with a tank, then killed a camping sniper then jumped off my tank and knifed nalle1000 behind some crates seconds before being kicked.

This is rather annoying especially since I was
A) Not breaking any conduct rules of the game/server.
B) Actually doing well for a change, either top spot or just behind Arctic Pedo Bear.

I don't think I will be playing on the server if it happens again for no reason.

i can confirm this a R9-R10 server bug.
I am the only one with Admin.
I never kick to make room
I never kick for myself
if you was doing somthing wrong you would get a full reporting message & it would say Admin Kicked: Blah
I would kick you because your amazing

however All servers have the bug, its when the server losses connection to the master server for a while & regains it.

For example at 03:00 i lost 12 players because of it

It's amazing how many points you can rack up on grand bazaar. Had some good games on that map, score was very close, but we managed to pull it together as a team

admins are starting to get on my pip last couple of days kicked from few servers reason either killing them or jump shooting

one guy yesterday who was admin kept killing me if i killed him

deicide to have a game of cod4 and my regular server i play on every day just bans me for no reason

proper lows . should be like a server admin exam so idiots dont get to run them

And that would have been me.

And you actually commented that everyone was using "IRNV and you may as well not bother turning up" which most were, probably due to it being Tehran Highway, dark and all that. I posted on the 24th that I had just earned it and was going to use it

......PS. For info, my lad helped me to achieve membership to that elite group of mass murderers who use the F2000 non stop. I haven't tried it yet but will be doing so later and YES I will be using the irnv when I unlock it....if you can't beat them and all that

So yeah, any of you guys I may have been a little hasty in having a sideswipe at in battle, due to using this combo.....you can now have a go back at me

and to be honest, I don't think its all that its cracked up to be, prefer the m416 myself. And my comment saying "bye then" was meant as friendly banter, sorry for any offence, I just like to throw a few sarcastic remarks at people who appear to be moaning at basically something that is available to everyone at some point. I have been killed by this gun for wht seems like weeks now....but now I am at the point where I have been there done that etc....may just stick to my pechneg (sp?).....with bipod, extra ammo....and IRNV of course

One of the advantages of playing BF3 on a console .. you get to play on DICE servers with no idiot server admins.

If the server you are playing on has a cheater .. just leave and find another one.

Hate it when lowBOB's do that, don't mind if it's an accidental collision during tight turning, but when it's blatant head on collisions you begin to wonder should dice just turn off collisions on jets to stop people doing it since the suicide doesn't seem to put them off (they probably think mission accomplished after ramming someone).

that's all i use, pressing S as you try to turn is supposed to make you turn quicker as i understand it, are you using your mouse enough to turn it ?

I've only tried a couple of times as I don't want to trash the jet mid game but the mouse seems to just make it roll rather than turn. When I see the turns other pilots pull I don't see how to turn the plane that hard.

To fly a jet you must realise that they can basically only bank left or right and climb or descend. So to turn your jet around you first need to bank to the side by moving the mouse to the side. Whilst doing that you can then pull down on the mouse and you'll start to turn. Using A or D allows you to veer slightly to the sides. W and S speed or slow you. S is useful if you want a bit more time to shoot something, or to manoeuvre tighter.

Even kit loadouts seem to be a bit dodgy for me, especially if I've just unlocked something.

To be honest I think it's like every other proper Battlefield: awesome in concept, decently done but with a few badly nagging issues. Doesn't stop it generally being fun though.

*team mate flies viper to out of bounds zone, disconnects at 2 seconds to get back in the area*

If my teammate manages to snag the chopper and wants me in gunner and not some level 6 noob, where is the harm in asking to swap with me (I usually bring a tank or something else to trade with )?

No worries. It was Damavand though, not Tehran. Although it doesn't matter, most people equip it on the daylight maps as well. would have thought the 4x mag. scopes would be a lot more useful in these cases.

but if the 2 of you are going to spend all game in a helicopter or a tank, you aren't going to be competing with squads of 4.

I'm perfectly fine with tank squads and helicopter squads of 2 men. They are useless squad mates anyway, as they are never anywhere near where you are, never going to give you health / ammo and you can never spawn on them as the vehicle doesnt have any spare seats.

On busy conquest large servers with 64 players, there isn't enough squads to do this, which is a problem, but in that situation you should maybe have 2 tank squads in there.

My mate and I usually do a good job of keeping the skies clear (and make runs on armour), so we'd actually be useful team mates to you since I also do a lot of spotting whilst in a jet and have been known to take down snipers and AT soldiers with headshots (had to brag) with the jets.

We do need a 3rd squad member to use the AA or mobile AA or have a stinger at the ready if the opposing team have equally good or better pilots.

Oh there's nothing wrong with asking, I completely understand that choppers with a crew who know each other and are using VOIP are *much* more effective than one with two randomers.

To be fair though, if it's the admin's server it's their rules, even if they're acting like they're six years old!

It's not their rules though if it is a ranked server.

Yes if someone is clearly taking a jet everytime to smash it into something, an admin would well be in the right to kick. However if the admin is just abusing his/her?(there are no girls on the internet) just so they can play with what they want, I would say it goes against EA's terms of ranked servers.

Aren't the ranked rules more just about the gameplay settings?

The way I always saw it was that if they're paying for the server then it's their rules, if I don't like that then I go somewhere else.
