how is it mate? I've just got a 7d and looking for a ettl flash
It's really nice. Feels well made and puts out a good amount of light. ETTL works well and it fully integrates with the camera (ie, can use the external flash in camera menu, it knowns focal lengths and aperture settings). The only problem is no high speed sync unfortunately!

I might do a little reshuffle soon.
Getting rid of the 85/1.8 (no need as I got the 1.2, but my 1.8 is so sharp and hard to let go!)
Getting rid of the 50/1.4 and get the 50/1.2. Again, sharp copy! I hardly use it but when i need to, it gets results.
50 @ 1.4
Getting rid of the Sigma 70-200/2.8, as I don't use it.
Get a 24/1.4 or a 24 or 45 T/S.
And then a Peli 1560 case to store them.

Yeah. Mine was £110 delivered. It was cheaper on there but I wanted a speedy delivery.
Bought a 5D mark 1 a few weeks ago and love it. Unfortunately I used the money I'd set aside for the 24-105 f4 L to buy it so I'm still saving for that one. I hope to use this as my general purpose zoom, and also as my landscape lens. The IS will come in handy when I can't be bothered with the tripod and 24mm is wide enough for me.
Short terms purchases - I could do with a battery grip for the 5D. I'm also tempted to get a good compact camera to take out and about more often. The Canon S95 looks ideal.
Longer term, I actually have my eye on a 7D. I will probably wait until the 7Dii comes out and get a used 7D and I'll probably get rid of the 500D at that point to offset some of the cost.

I haven't bought anything for ages. Since last Christmas actually when I got my 50 1.4 and 70-200f4. I am planning on getting the 5DmkIII though. However I am tempted to buy a stratocaster that'll set me back just as much, so I'm undecided 
Purchased a 35mm EOS Body a couple of weeks ago, the Canon EOS 3, came with the Battery booster pack - almost mint condition, very slight scratch on the body, clearly hardly used since the guide rails have no wear on them at all!
It has 45-point Area AF, high-speed and precision Eye Controlled Focus, and 7 fps high-speed predictive AF continuous shooting mode.
The Camera also boasts 21-zone evaluative metering linked to the focusing points, multi-spot metering with up to eight readings per exposure, eight metering systems, dust and moisture protection and a high-performance 1/8000sec. shutter unit rated at 100,000 activations
Pity Canon didn't make a Digital version of it.
Got some BW film on order for it.

im loving using it. next on the list is a variant of the 70-200 f/2.8L's to replace my f/4 version. after that a few primes. after that i think i would like some studio lights instead of my speedlights. the list goes on....
short term i have taken the heady decision that it is about time i invested in a rocket blower

Bought an Canon 85mm 1.8 today Been wanting one for a while now - and wasn't disappointed! Last one they had so was the display model but means I got to try it before splashing the cash - never a bad thing IMO.
Given I'm on the road to building a set of primes, is the 35mm F2 anything to write home about or should I be looking at the 35mm 1.4 instead?

All my needs have been covered since getting my last 2 lenses (Canon 10-22 and Sigma 50. Maybe I'll switch back to Nikon again next time round I don't know. Will have to see what Nikon throw out with the new cameras and see how much D700s go for then I have plenty of pro Nikkor glass access already so I only need to invest in a body and x1 SB900.
One could argue that the Sigma 50 1.4 is better in pretty much all aspects, bit pricier but that's to be expected of a lens that's better optically

do you Need or lust after the 1.4 that badly?

I don't need 1.4, lust for 1.4 well...
It just seems the F/2 just doesn't seem that popular and comes across a meh in reviews. I appreciate it's a lot cheaper but good glass holds it's value so saving a bit more and getting the 1.4 doesn't bother so much as long as it keeps the majority of it's value.
Certainly not something I'm rushing to buy at the moment but something to think about
