I just prefer the feel of the canons tbh mate, got nothing against Nikons mind as I've kept the D80 with all the lenses, just means I can double up at shows/events etc with out messing about with lens swaps lol

Just recently received my 550D, which I'm loving (mainly because of the IS lens it came with over my gf's non-IS kit lens, but also for its better metering).

Now I'm in the market for a nifty 50mm, decent flash, and a good tripod. And a sharper wide lens. And lots more
