I wonder how many BF3 gamers that scream about weapon inbalance are actually speaking from real-life experience and/or proper knowledge of said weapon.
From using a weapon in real-life (military) you can certainly gauage how it should perform in the game, but i wonder how many take into account the deliberate and 'unrealistic' portions of the game, ie. most weapons in the game would be a 1-2 shot kill, not half a mag as i often have to do to down an enemy.
I guess this is the pay-off between mixing realism and arcade-style gameplay in one sitting.

It is such an overpowered class. Every noob out there is using engineer class so he can rpg people. I much prefered how it was in BC2. Engineer did have the rps aw well, but main guns were rubbish. Now they have the best guns, rps, mines, etc. The only class that can kill everything on the map (choppers, jets, tanks, people).

Give over

for everybody whinging that the engineer is an overpowered class i've seen another complaining that the Support Class is overpowered, because they get C4 to take out tanks, and they get unlimited ammo and big machine guns which can be fired on the move with the fore grip fitted.

So really, what it comes down to, is assault class players moaning that they aren't the best class.

Andy Mcnab was the realism advisor for the game. Advising them on how to animate the characters holding weapons, on the weapons and how they should feel etc..

Obviously this is balanced with a need to make a fun game, and not a milsim. But still, they did have somebody on hand with real world experience to work with.

How do you spot? Zoom in on an enemy and press 'Q' (default).
I ask this (dumb) question because i don't know if i'm doing it wrong or my keybinds are still fubar.

Well, this is just my opinion of course and I never said I am never wrong ;) but I think Eng class is a noob class. If I connect to any server I can be sure that at least half of my team will be playing as Engineer. So no Ammo packs, no medkits, only an RPG fest.

Also ENGineers havce way to many rockets. 3 should be the absolute limit with no re-stocking. This way people will think before spamming RPGs.

I'm not whinning BTW, just stating my opinion. I love the game and I think I am addicted  with 60+ hours already clocked :)

Of course there are idiots who use the Engineer Class like they are playing quake with the rocket launcher

Just makes it even more fun when you take them out. I just laugh at them, and the server is hardly full of them.

Unless its operation metro.

Support guns are rubbish (except M249 that is), the recoil is crazy (even with the grip unlocked) and while in real life one bullet from a gun like M240 or M60 would be enough to stop anybody (disable or kill), in this game Support guns loose to any other gun in close combat. They are only good in mid-range with all unlocks.

And I'm sorry, but C4 argument is rubbish. You have to almost touch the tank to use it, while RPG you can fire from miles away.

It's certainly risky C4'ing a tank, but that's a lot of the fun*. The M249 isn't great from the hip even with the fore grip, but it's good enough. In a dark alley with a suppressor, fore grip and irnv in prone, it's a factory production line of death though ;)

* There is always the jhadi jeep option.

Everyone is screaming about things being overpowered?

What a bunch of cry babies!

There is only one thing in this game that is "overpowered" and that's the IRNV, this should be totally removed.

lol oh the irony ;)

Thing I've learned about BF3 from BF2 and even BF is that I'm carp at playing BF hehe

I have a French keyboard with a UK version of the game however when I installed the game the installer choose french so now my keyboard is really FUBAR ;-)

Even says in origin Battlefield 3 édition limitée.

Very strange as it's only recently started doing this and I haven't changed any windows settings.

Oh man, I loved the jihad jeep on 2142.. Even if I did tend to get kicked for ramming it in to walkers

I dont even use rpg, i have a stinger. I use at mines for tanks.

in reality could those big support guns even take a silencer?

Weapons are pieces of metal, you can fit anything you like to gun if you have the skill and the tools.

There's a massive gun smith industry in the US based around customising guns, fitting stuff to them that was never intended, even converting civilian guns back to their military spec in the states where automatics are allowed (like Nevada)

You could fit a silencer to a GPMG, (M240b to the yanks) but its so damned loud it wouldn't make that much of a difference

I bet heat would be a problem too. The 7.62mm guns can easily overheat if used continuously
