Sadly the IRNV nerf only plays into the hands of campers. If you move as a squad and take objectives (and actually try and win the round for your team) then it's now going to be much harder to spot the guy hiding in the plant pot whos been "defending" for the last 10 mins.

About attachments, I noticed a good few people using the heavy barrel, heres some numbers:

Heavy Barrel increases first bullet accuracy while aiming down a sight by 50% (sounds a lot but the first bullet is already pretty accurate anyway) while increasing spread while bursting by 50% and overall recoil by 20%.

Supressor also increases first bullet accuracy in the same way, by 50%, at the cost of decreasing accuracy while firing from the hip by 33.3% but doesn't increase the spread while bursting and actually reduces recoil by 10%.

Silencer + Foregrip + Scope of choice is the best combo for any automatic weapon.

Where did you get these figures from?

I sport the [OcUK] tag, although most people's battlelog names don't match their forum username, so I never recognise anyone.

EVH = dlorey, for example :p:)

What you want to do, is use A & D keys to rotate the tale and W & S ascend / decend, then use the mouse SLOWLY, to tip the nose up or down, depending on if you want to go forward, or tip backward.

When you have the nose down, you’ll need to accelerate using W to keep yourself from divebombing in to the floor :D

Only move the mouse left or right if you want the chopper to tilt / bank left or right. I’d actually advise you to forget about the tilt, until you get the basic controls down.

To hover just keep the crosshairs on the horizontal 0 and control the altitude using W and S again. IIRC you don’t need to throttle up or down when hovering, but obviously if you hover low expect someone to shove an RPG your arse!

Awesome thanks.

I keep trying to tilt, hence litterally leaning myself down to a ground hitting fireball!

I'll keep it to the 2 planes of motion rather than adding a tilting 3rd!

I'm not sure why so many people use silencers unless you are all playing hardcore??

I find in normal mode that the damage reduction from fitting a silencer far outweighs any benefit.

In HC tho :D

Hey there, I'll add you.

I'm Arctic_Pedo_Bear. Although I need to drop the final bit and just go back to Arctic, but I think someone has that origin name!

I absolutely love guns like the SV98, it’s very powerful in the right hands and it brings me back to the oldem MoH:AA days when I used to mooch around with the German rifles, the bolt action reload is the main thing and then the sounds of the guns themselves – So good.

If you’ve spotted the enemy before you shot them then they will still be visible via the marker so when you reload and scope back at them yuo can fire again.

You should be aiming for one shot kills though. What I tend to do is spot them and team mates will then “loosen” them up a bit, so when you do hit them, if it’s not a head shot then it will be a kill shot because their health will be low.

That’s what sniping is all about :D

I agree completely with you about the methods of sniping, I just can't get on with the SV98 at all. Maybe I need to try it more or sit back an camp/snipe from a spot but tbh I find the latter too hard :p

I prefer to get into the thick of the action rather than snipe from a distance. The SVD / SKS act a good go between for both scenarios (especially if you run iron sights).

I must say I was initially dissapointed with the IRNV scope on the first map I tried it on (Metro). Perhaps the action is too fast paced but I found it to be no more useful than any other scope. This was until I picked up a gun that had it on in the Firestorm warehouses. It is almost like a wall hack! It is ridiculous how easy it made spotting people at any distance in direct sunlight etc. No wonder it is being Nerfed.

Are you certain your internet connection is solid? Do you play any other online games at the moment and do they work fine?

You may not even notice a short internet drop-out during internet browsing, but it definitely would be the most probable cause of connection timeouts in some games.

Dont have issues in other games.

Maybe try running pingtest.

This is hugely frustrating. I basically can't play BF3 and nobody seems to know why :(

A connection time out is exactly that - it times out. This isn't a time out, one minute I'm right in the action then bang. Less than a second - thats a pretty low timeout threshold!

Seems to be you either have loads or problems or none at all. I've crashed twice since the game came out, but I do have a new SSD, hence new and clean windows install.

Maybe need to fiddle with router settings, unpnp off etc?

The game files, smarter people than me have decrypted them.

It doesn't, test it yourself by shooting a friend, assault rifles do 25 damage point blank and still kill in 4 hits with or without the silencer, all it does is reduce effective range and bullet velocity (increasing bullet drop).
