A connection time out is exactly that - it times out. This isn't a time out, one minute I'm right in the action then bang. Less than a second - thats a pretty low timeout threshold!
To start eliminating hardware (even those it doesn't happen with other games), have you tried wired connection to your router? Have you tried a new network card? Also, have you removed any "Net Speed Boost" type software, if you have any?

I run no software, I am already wired to the router and I'm using the onboard NIC on my Asus motherboard.
No other game has issues.
Never thought I'd say this but, recon really does need a buff.
TUGs giving points would be a start, maybe not the points hauling machine that a medi pack is but close would do. A more subtle glint on the rifle scopes would help as well, right now it's more like a torch. Maybe we can build up to miniguns on the MAV from there... one step at a time.
I may not be serious about the miniguns.

Seeing a few ringers appearing on teams now. Jumping into tanks and aircraft and just sitting there, letting their mate on the other team have one less vehicle to worry about.

Can someone help, I haven't played for ages and I'm trying to update my game. When I click update within Battlelog it just opens the BF3 game page in Origin and does nothing. How can I update it?

I've given up trying and just waiting for a new patch, hope it is sometime soon!Just had a truly woeful game. Noshar Canals as the Russian defenders, team getting completely owned by aircraft. Spawned as an engi with a Stinger and started harassing the choppers.
There was a bunch of us huddled down in the buildings nearest the US ship, two engis with Stingers, shooting away until we ran out of ammo. I yelled at the support guy for ammo and he just sat there. Yelled at him, shot at him, jumped up and down in front of him. He just moved around me, ignored me and then ran off scared when the Cobra completely tore apart our position.
Grrrrrr. I've no idea why support troopers won't drop some *bleep bleep* ammo when the medics throw medkits all over the place.

Have you tried forcing a repair install efter the patch? Right click on BF3 within the Origin window and "repair install". Do this a couple of times until it says the game is up to date. When joining a server click on the BF3 icon in the task bar as soon as it appears. It may crash the first time you try to join a server but from then on it should connect reasonably reliably.
Right click the bf3 icon in origin library, this will bring up the menu for updates etc.

so if theres a few people in the queue random people get dumped to make room if its taking to long?
T-UGS do give points anyone detected by T-UGS that are killed by your team give you a spotting bonus.
go test it on metro or seine crossing as they can detect people through walls etc and they are heavy infantry camping maps.
SOFLAM seems full of **** though , i thought it was suposed to be
yet ive never seen SOFLAM designate a target on its own even when one is directly in its path
if your manually using soflam its a job and a half to follow jets aswell as the camera turns so bloody slow
yet i stick one down and it never spots anything unless im using the camera myself...
