Its time for the BBC to sack Clarkson?

My dad described it as "A pompous self-publicist vs some utterly humourless union killjoys." and said that he didn't care. Not a wholly inaccurate summation of the situation...

This is a typical conversation I've been having all week with various friends in public sector...

Really all it seems to come down to is: dumb public sector unionists that have always disliked Clarkson seem to think he has shot himself in the foot so badly that they could whip up a DailyMail-fest to get him fired. When actually all it has done is highlight how misguided and self-proud they are that they can't admit that they got it wrong, that they delibrately misquoted him out of context.

I like Top Gear, but I like Clarkson less and less (in fact, I like Top Gear with its terrible scripting less and less).

Even though I'm a public sector worker (who didn't stike, as it happens), and I didn't find him offensive personally, I think the BBC senior staff must be sitting with bated breath whenever he does anything live - he's become a real embarrassment to them.

It's like Prince Philip - lets wait and see what stupid thing he says next!

Whether that would lead the Beeb to get rid of him I don't know.

Although I think it was quite clear I was using 'you' to denote anybody who may be offended, by anything.
