Clarkson gave two points of view on the issue and he didn't actually state which one he believed most. Frankly, I thought it was quite obvious that he honestly couldn't give a toss! I would take his first comments about London being half empty as his most honest answer. From that sense he was actually supporting or at least "indifferent" of the strikes. Which honestly is about as good as you're going to get from him.
It seems that this has really polarised opinion between public and private sector workers. But all it really shows is that the majority of public sector workers are incapable of following a thread of conversation without being erroneously offended. When I have pointed out what Clarkson *actually* said, many of them are too far up their own buttocks to actually forgive and forget.
