Hmm.. still a bit confused about them.

Nonono. If island A sockets the item, and a npc ship comes to your island to trade with you, for every 20t of any item it buys it will gift you 5t of this. So if you're selling building mats and an npc buys 40t of it at once you get 10t of bots. It has no effect on your own trading.

Ahh, I see now. Never really used buy orders at warehouses to get goods from NPCs, might give a whirl, I can imagine they aren't reliable though for maintaining stock as opposed to making your own stuff. Cheers matey :)

You can passively sell stuff though, and that's what the duty is levied on. Set up a weapons loop or other big seller and set your warehouse to sell them to NPC traders. That way you make cash off the NPC traders, get given 5t of Bots per 20t of weapons sold, then you can sell the bots as well.

You also get influence and career points and other good stuff for trading. Buying at a warehouse is almost worthless however imo, as early game your cashflow needs to be stable, and late game it's just easier to set up a loop for the goods.

But start passive selling, only good comes from it.

Why is there so much love for the Ecos? They have a huge lead in the ingame polls, and all the layouts and stuff on the wiki are Ecos. Tycoons are quite clearly superior.

The best thing me and my mate did on 1404 was set up a bunch of duties and set up trade routes between each other.
We would both have a ship automatically buying wood off the other player and shipping it home, and they would come and buy it back. And cause of duties we would lose no money but gain like hundreds of candlesticks lol

Don't suppose there is any way to add a mineral type to a mine on an island? had the perfect island ready to go for bots, until I landed and set up there then went to place a Copper mine and it doesn't have copper in it :/ tried using a probe but won't work.

Ha! Now that is cheesy!

I prefer the ecos, but would have preferred the tycoon leader to lead the world council. There sure is a huge eco bias though! Maybe it will change as people play the other factions?

When playing as Ecos, how many tiers of techs and tycoons can I unlock - I have only unlocked 2 tiers of both so far (plus the underwater building options of the techs)?

hello, I'm a real beginner to this game and have a couple of questions if that's ok?

1. How do I get the camera to follow a ship? I can't see it in the manual anywhere :(

2. If I set something in my warehouse to be sold in the trade tab, does this mean that npc's will come by themselves to buy the stuff?? I know I can get a ship to follow a route on the tactical map thingy and that sells it that way but it's a little confusing. If someone knows of a tutorial page I could read maybe?

Those are my 2 main questions for now, no doubt I will have more. Thank-you in advance for any advice given :)

1. You can active chase cam in postcard view by select the ship as it's moving and pressing F1, not sure if you can do it from the standard view.
2. Yeah NPC players will come back and buy stuff now and then.

Also, sigh @ Ubisoft servers being down again. It's totally screwing up my continuous game due to Ark upgrades not being available and unable to learn stuff at the Academy.

Down again? :(

Keep in mind that NPCs must be active on the map to have traders...don't make my mistake :p

Also remember that some things will be more easy to offload to NPCs than others.

Ahh lovely, sometimes you just wanna follow that ship yay :)

Yea I was wondering why they weren't buying my stuffs captainR lol.

Thanks guys :)

OOO I found a tutorial for nubs like me if any1 is interested. Does help a fair bit http://forums-de.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/3231027629/m/2691065369

The wiki is good to - http://anno2070.wikia.com/wiki/Anno_2070_Wiki

Yeah, they won't buy much in the way of building materials, tools etc (maybe just the occasional few tonnes) - more complex and higher tier stuff like high tech weapons, uranium, functional foods etc will be bought quicker than they can be supplied :)

Interesting trading mechanics in the game - I sold tonnes and tonnes of uranium from my underwater island, but I now seem to have flooded the market and it doesn't seem to be selling as much, Underwater uranium is insane though - 1 uranium metal converter = 6 onland uranium mines!

Was thinking of picking this up as a nice little time filler, something a bit more chilled than Battlefield and Skyrim. Is it definately worth the money? Have a lot of experience in standard RTS games like Starcraft etc, but not so much in this style - think it's for me?

To be honest that's probably something only you can answer :) but if you like the idea of city building and economy management then sure. There's a demo somewhere also, might want to try it out.
