Noob question :(

When you have a live wallpaper running, does it only run when the screen is active or constantly running even when the phone is in standby?

I have a few but worried about battery life :)

NM, I don't really need any OCing. I've installed SpeedMod kernel K18 test3. Is very nice. One thing I like about speedmod is the lower screen brightness when low brightness values are being used, makes for reading text on white BGs way way easier in the dark in bed and also helps battery.

sorry my phone missed off the word sizes.
You can change the icon sizes in go launcher.
 
Help please guys
I got my wife this phone about 6 months ago and its the best phone I have ever seen or used (and its hers) Boo Hoo
anyway to cut a long story short in the last 3 days she has been telling me that when she makes a call noting happens
she presses the dialler button to anyone she wants to ring and the phone looks like it is ringing but it is not
and the phone she trys to ring does not ring at all and has no missed call etc

its the same with texts it just wont send them saying cannot send at this time (or words to that effect)

however on all 3 days that this has been happening if I switch the phone off and restart it - the thing works fine
but its happening everyday now and she should not have to reboot the phone every time she wants to call or text some one
does anyone have any ideas as to what might causing this
having done an extensive google search I cannot find anything about this

so would appreciate any help at all (its on contract with Orange) 24 months and about 6 months into that contract

Signal ok each time this happens?
I'm on Orange and mine started doing this occasionally when i started using Orange & T-mobile networks together

Not 100% sure about the signal as I just rebooted it and it worked fine than the day after it does it again but next time it does it I will check out what the signal is like

it is as though another program is blocking it or something
looking at the phone while it does this it actually looks like its ringing with the calling lights lit up etc but no sound and it is not ringing the other phone and also wont send texts
restart it and it works again??

Mine is sometimes the same. I can try calling several times but it will not connect but then i can try again in two minutes and it will. Mine does not do this with a T-mobile sim in it. Only my Orange sim does this.

My display is using so much power? Or was it ADW? I was playing with it for a while setting it up.

My brightness isn't that high... any lower and white looks like grey:

Yeah that's a bit cheese :p I'm on 50% after 13hours at the moment.

Where did you get better battery stats?
 
Can someone link me to the latest android version?

I'm on 2.3.3 at the moment, also would i need to unroot to update? or will the update unroot me anyway, or will i just always remain rooted?

thanks! does anyone know how to combat the wifi always stuck on 'obtaining ip address' scenario? Im hoping an update from 2.3.3 (stock) will fix it!


Whats the best custom rom mrk?

I'm new to android, as you may be able to tell :D
 
Different people like different ROMs, I don't know if there is a "best" really, just requires a bit of testing various to see which ones work for you!
