What film did you watch last night?

True Grit (the new one) - OK film, a solid 8/10. Just felt the film took too long setting the scene and mood and before I knew it, it was basically over. Would have been nice for it to be a bit longer.

Little Fockers - rubbish trailer but was alright for a "meh" film. 5/10

The Hangover: Part 2 - again, rubbish trailer but it was ok. A lot of people have been criticising it for being too similar to the first one... so what? It worked. If it turned out to be A Citizen Kane it wouldn't have worked. 5/10

Predators - 9/10

Thought this really did justice to the Predator series. It's no schwarzenegger movie but good all the same.

Not a film, but we've re-watched the 2 series of Life On Mars this past fortnight. Absolutely brilliant, and a very brave ending.

Inbetweeners Movie, terrible 3/10.

Maybe 1 or 2 funny moments. The rest were unrealistic and poorly scripted.

Anyone watching Westworld on BBC1? The father pointed it out to me as he went to bed, said it was brilliant but i'd already missed the start so you know - opinions?

Just watched Inbetweeners movie. Had some funny parts in it, although not as good as i thought it would be. 6/10

Coen Brother's films often play on a confusing chaos with a dark humour twist, if you don't get it fair enough.

Bit late, so will probably be no use but...

Westworld is a fantastic film, if you didn't end up watching it try catch it the next time it's on.

It has obviously aged somewhat, but not as bad as some films and Yul Brynner is super cool :cool:

There was also a sequel called Futureworld, wasn't quite as good but still worthy of a watch

I saw Hostel Part III , some of the kills were pretty brutal especially the first “face off”!!!!!!. Apart from the gore, it was a pretty rubbish movie with rubbish acting by many of the actors.

Submarine – 8.5/10

Fantastic little English picture that you would swear was French. Subtle, charming and very funny.

Last few nights:

LOTR : Fellowship Of The Ring, blu Ray Theatrical cut,. Prefer the extended version but haven't got around to buying the blu ray extended edition boxset yet, still waiting for a price drop. Always enjoy this film, great adaptation by Jackson imo, looks and sounds beautiful on blu ray, some criticised the transfer to blu ray but it looks great to me, apparently though, FOTR was completely remastered for the extended blu ray cut, will be interesting to compare them.

I can't think of any war film that has gripped me so tightly throughout, it almost feels like you're on that German Uboat. One of the few war films that isn't full of propaganda or glorification of war, it tries to be brutally honest and is all the more realistic, tension filled and entertaining for it. A must watch imo, I don't usually score films but this definitely deserves 9.9999999 out of 10!

Se7en : blu ray.

Watched many times before but first time on blu ray, enjoyed it more than ever, especially as it's a good while since I last viewed it. Still find it quite a disturbing film tbh but very tense and gripping also, i'm sure most are aware of the films premise by now. Always enjoy watching Morgan Freeman, such a convincing actor as is Kevin Spacey.

The original "The Thing"

OMG! Why do people like this movie? I mean the remake was bad enough but the original? admittedly the gore level and cheesy plastic models made it an ok watch but a cult following? really?
